Boyfriend is the main protagonist of the Friday Night Funkin' Mod, Indie Cross.
Where he is sent across various indie worlds and rap against them while surviving against them.
Appearance[]
Just like in his vanilla game, Boyfriend is a short male with blue spiky hair. He wears a white shirt with a red prohibition on it. His pants are blue. His shoes are red and white. And he wears a big red hat backwards on his head.
Personality[]
Also in his vanilla game, Boyfriend is an energetic rapper with a love for music and his girlfriend. He also has no problem with accepting risks such as when Cuphead challenges him. He is also very cocky and mischievous at times, but he's also shown to have a fearful side such as when the Ink Demon makes his appearance.
Biography[]
Intro[]
Week 1 (Cuphead)[]
Boyfriend first appears out of a red portal and falls into the ground into Inkwell Isles. Cuphead finds him face first stuck in the ground. Once, he gets out, the latter tells him he's got a lot of nerve messing with his land and challenges him. Boyfriend accepts it and wins the first song. Cuphead then decides to use violence, (Despite Mugman telling him not to.) After the second song, Boyfriend shows off by rapping very fast. Cuphead then tells him that he's tripling down on him. Boyfriend is unbothered by this and the two sing the third song.
After the third song, Cuphead angrily shoots a charge shot behind him, setting everything on fire behind him. Boyfriend dodges a charge shot targeted at him. He runs away when Cuphead uses his first super at him. Boyfriend then throws his microphone at Cuphead, but he grabs it and pulls him forward and attacks him with an EX-Move, pinning him against a tree. Cuphead then charges up another charge shot and points it at Boyfriend. But before the inevitable could happen, a red portal took Boyfriend away.
Week 2 (Undertale)[]
Boyfriend falls into the Underground and lands in the Last Corridor where Sans was waiting for him there. Sans notices Boyfriend is knocked out and lets him recover. Afterwards, Sans greets him and tells him that he was hired by someone to kill him after rap battling him in a few rounds and tells him to ready himself.
After the first song finishes, Frisk walks into the Final Corridor with the real knife in their hands and sees the two together. Sans tells Boyfriend that he wasn't that bad during the song, Boyfriend just blinks at him while Frisk tries to intervene but is unable to do so because an invisible red barrier prevented them from going forward. Sans then tells Boyfriend that he saw what happened between him and Cuphead and tells him that if he tries the same thing on him, things won't turn out in his favor and sings the second song.
Here, the player can choose either to attack Sans or not. Attacking him three or more times will result in the Genocide Route while not attacking him at all will result in the Pacifist Route.
Pacifist Route[]
Frisk is able to somehow get through the barrier and tries to kill Sans. But he dodges it and shoots a gaster blaster at them. Boyfriend looks at Frisk's corpse in shock and flinches when Sans spawns bones from the ground and impale Frisk. Despite this, Boyfriend sings one more time with Sans now that the latter has gained his trust. When the song ends, Boyfriend questions why Sans had bone arrows during his songs, Sans admits to Boyfriend he's surprised he had a change of heart. A new portal shows up yet again to take Boyfriend away, and the two leave on good terms.
Genocide Route[]
The scene plays out similarly, only this time, Chara takes control of and possesses Boyfriend's body. Sans notices this and sings one final song. Afterwards, the possessed Boyfriend attempts to grab the knife, but Sans stops him with a circle of Gaster Blasters. As Boyfriend lies on the ground severely injured, Frisk successfully attacks Sans, but is impaled by a bone and the two both lay dead in the Final Corridor. Boyfriend falls unconscious due to his injuries as a red portal takes him away.
Week 3 (Bendy and the Ink Machine)[]
Boyfriend now appears in the cycle and encounters a Bendy cutout. After rapping the first half of the first song, Boyfriend throws his mic at the cutout knocking it over. This in turn summons the Ink Demon and they both sing the second half of the song. Afterwards, Sammy shows up and tries to intervene, but is unable to like Frisk. Boyfriend and The Ink Demon sing the second song.
The two are then ambushed by the Butcher Gang during the third song, but the Ink Demon eventually kills them all. When the third song ends, The Ink demon angrily roars in frustration while it reminds Boyfriend of Whitty's outbreak. But before he could react, The Ink Demon then knees Boyfriend and the latter runs away while they perform the fourth song.
IN the last cutscene of the week Boyfriend hides in a Little Miracle Station. After losing sight of the Ink Demon. ONce he exited the station, he tries to walk away, but then falls through the floor and is surrounded by the Butcher Gang. As he’s fending them off, The Ink Demon finds him and brutally injures him after throwing him through a wall. Boyfriend lets out a powerful cry before the Ink Demon could finish him off, and the portal takes him away once more as the Ink Demon stares.
Week 4 (Hollow Knight)[]

- Boyfriend's cocky side is more prominent in Cuphead's beta cutscenes for the mod.
- Boyfriend thinking about Whitty during Week 3 means that the Vs. Whitty mod took place before Indie Cross.
