Buttercup Utonium is one of the four titular main protagonists (alongside Blossom, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Bubbles) of Sonic and the Powerpuff Girls, she is also one of the four deuteragonists (alongside Bubbles, Miles "Tails" Prower, and Knuckles the Echidna) of the remake. She is one of the toughest ones of the Powerpuff Girls, she is also known to be one of the strongest fighters of all time with her being as powerful as the girls and even Team Sonic.
Personality[]
Similar to Sonic, Buttercup tends to be cocky towards her enemies, though unlike Sonic, she is also very mischievous as she is willingly to put harmful pranks against her friends especially to her best friend, Knuckles for the sake of her entertainment. She is also pretty reckless like Sonic as she gets Blossom involved in her trouble, however unlike Sonic, she doesn't tend to be reckless when she realize the consequences of her actions, thus no longer tries to get her sisters or friends in any trouble. She also tends to fight her enemies as much as she want even despite them giving up or no longer wanting to fight, examples include HIM despite HIM who was very injured during the battle with Blossom.
Unlike her original counterpart, Buttercup's nature is overall being a mischievous and cocky jerk who is willing to insult her sisters, friends, or enemies if she wants to while she does pranks against Brunette or the others for fun, more likely she always prank Brunette since she is always her target. She also tends to get angry whenever her enemies pushes them too far. However, in the remake, she's a much more lighthearted character who shows sympathy for anyone and even is optimistic unlike her original SatPPG version.

- TV Break (Part 1 and 2): Blossom saw a new video-game called Sonic the Hedgehog so she and her sisters decided to try it, this is where to the point where they became biggest fans of Team Sonic as they had a lot of interest in Sonic and even read all of their comics and watch their TV shows. As when Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles got tired, they noticed a TV series about 3 girls who are willing to fight crime and protect Townsville, they decided to watch it. After days, they also had a lot of interest in the Powerpuff Girls and even became biggest fans of them. They also read all of their comics, watched their anime and reboot series, and even played their video-games. Mojo and Dr. Eggman later appeared with Mojo trying to kill everyone in all of Townsville while Eggman is trying to kidnap everyone in Green Hill Zone including Team Sonic, however PPG stopped Mojo as well as Team Sonic stopping Eggman. Now the girls and Team Sonic imagined what it be like if they met each other, PPG and Team Sonic thought it would be cool. Later on, in the morning, Tails continued watching the PPG again while Sonic and Knuckles wanted to join in. Sonic suggests if Tails wanted to read all of the comics again after watching the whole PPG series. Thanks to Tails, Blossom was inspired to make inventions and even become more intelligent than she is. Bubbles later suggests that Blossom should make a teleporter but the Mayor later called saying that Townsville is in danger. After the end of the battle, Blossom thought they can't teleport to the Sonic universe since Team Sonic are from the internet and not in real life making it impossible to teleport to their universe, Bubbles later understands. After 1 day, Mojo later appeared again, Tails finished making a teleporter so that he and Team Sonic can teleport to the PPG universe, after the success, they fight against Mojo so that they can introduce themselves to the girls. Tails thought they were gonna get angry as he and Team Sonic ruined their battle but instead the girls hugged them saying that they're biggest fans of the franchise. Blossom wanted to go with Tails in the Sonic universe for a bit to test how his inventions work so Tails suggests Blossom to hold his hand so that both of them can teleport there. Sonic and Knuckles wanted to hang out with Bubbles and Buttercup for a bit while Blossom and Tails are gone. Buttercup and Knuckles goes to the Utonium Residence to eat burgers, however their burgers were ruined so the Professor made more for them. When Buttercup heard there's trouble, she and Knuckles fight Mojo themselves without Team Sonic or the PPG. Blossom was interested in seeing Tails' inventions and was quite interested with the coding she did. Blossom later introduces herself to Amy as Amy asked who is she. Eggman later appeared trying to attack Blossom, Tails, and Amy so they worked together to stop Eggman, when they stopped Eggman, Blossom, Tails, and Amy decided to relax. Sonic and Bubbles went to the park as Bubbles wanted to show Sonic how nice the place is, Sonic loved it and even loved the flowers there. Sonic and Bubbles later played Hide and Seek to have fun. Sonic was impressed to see Bubbles win since Bubbles was hiding for a really long time which made Sonic give up and let Bubbles win. Bubbles later became the seeker and found Sonic. Sonic and Bubbles later get some chilidogs since Sonic is hungry so Bubbles flies him to the hotdog restaurant. When it was decided that Blossom should go back to her universe, Tails later goes with Blossom to get Sonic and Knuckles back. Before Sonic goes back to his universe, he gets close to Blossom and said that Blossom is his favorite. Blossom was happy but then later became sad since Team Sonic left so Bubbles and Buttercup thought of getting Team Sonic back with the help of Professor's invention saying to Team Sonic that Blossom really missed them, Team Sonic later returned back in the PPG universe hugging Blossom as they were happy to see her again.
- Body Swap: Bubbles gives an invention idea for Tails. She wanted Tails to make a invention that can switch bodies so Tails tells Bubbles about his idea, the invention will be build in a little while. Sonic and Blossom had a good time fighting, however they had to fix Townsville due to the destruction the villains caused. Sonic and Blossom later goes to the Utonium Residence to get chilidogs. Buttercup and Knuckles are with the Master Emerald as Buttercup wanted to check the Master Emerald and even Angel Island. Buttercup asks what Knuckles eats here, Knuckles answers that with grapes and even offers Buttercup some. Knuckles asked Buttercup how's her day with her sisters. Buttercup said that her time with the sisters are good. As the girls and Team Sonic switch bodies, the girls later woke up asking why they are in Sonic's house, when Blossom looked in the mirror, she actually became happy since she is Sonic as well as Bubbles being Tails. Buttercup was incredibly shocked and even screamed questioning why she is Knuckles. Blossom later go with Team Sonic to see what's going on. Tails said that he made a body switch invention since it was Bubbles idea. Blossom gets mad at Bubbles for the idea, Bubbles said she was sorry. Tails realized he actually felt dumber as well as Blossom, Bubbles was able to tell what's going on, when they switched bodies, they also switched brains as they now have different brains except Knuckles and Buttercup since they have the same level of intelligence. Sonic now questioned if he's now a genius, Bubbles answered that with a yes so Sonic is happy to be Blossom. Blossom tests Sonic's powers and abilities to see what she can do. Bubbles did the same thing as she wanted to test what she can do as Tails. Team Sonic later flies testing the girls' powers. When they saw Mojo, they fought him and after that, it was a fun fight for them, Sonic wondered how the girls are doing. Blossom had so much fun running. Bubbles test her inventions to see if it can work. Bubbles was surprised that it actually worked. Buttercup thought it would be fun protecting the Master Emerald since she literally can fight anyone while protecting it. Buttercup notices Eggman so she tries stopping Eggman from taking it. Bubbles wondered if she can make bunny robots so she starts inventing. Blossom had a bunch of fun going to loops, she wondered if she can try spindashing, apparently she can and thought it was more fun. When Bubbles finished inventing, she thought the bunny robots are so cute, she wanna hug it so bad as she loved being Tails. Buttercup was relaxing in Angel Island while protecting the Master Emerald as she gets to smell the flowers. Tails bet that the girls are having a good time. Knuckles and Sonic thought it's good to be the Powerpuff Girls. Tails later responded with a lot of animals following him since he is Bubbles as well as he said they are so cute. Sonic bet that Tails like them. Tails said he doesn't like them but actually loved them. Sonic said that it's time to sleep so they sleep in the PPG bed, it was so comfy for them that they actually liked it. One day later, Blossom wanted everyone to get their bodies back, Tails agrees with Blossom so Bubbles wanted to get everyone together so that they can get all their bodies back. When Tails got his body back, Tails add more to the PPG hotline as the PPG can now contact anyone from any place by saying their phone number which made Blossom impressed.
- Meet the Legendary Brunette: The Powerpuff Girls met a new neighbor as the Professor introduced her to them. However Blossom was quite suspicious of her as she questioned why she looks just like them. Blossom believed their new neighbor, Brunette must be created by Mojo or something. Bubbles thought Brunette is just a kind person, Blossom doesn't believe her but Bubbles continued arguing with her and just wanted Blossom to be nice to her so Blossom later accepted it but Blossom will keep an eye on her. While Bubbles, Buttercup, and Brunette are having so much fun and even dressed up as the Sonic characters, Blossom is still quite suspicious of her and rather read her Chinese book. Bubbles, Buttercup, and Brunette later left the Utonium Residence as Buttercup believed Blossom is acting like a jerk. They later went to the park so that Brunette can smell the flowers due to how good they smell. However Brunette accidentally make the flowers grow as she touches it. When Bubbles and Buttercup noticed what she did, Buttercup talked with Bubbles saying that she must be one of Mojo's creations. Brunette later left the park leaving Bubbles and Buttercup wondering where she went. Bubbles and Buttercup tried to look for her but then got captured by Mojo Jojo so they tried screaming Blossom for help. Blossom tries to save the girls but she ended up captured. When the Powerpuff Girls are tied in a rope with a bunch of lava, they screamed someone for help. Brunette heard them so she flies to Mojo's place and tells Mojo to free them. If Mojo never frees them, Brunette attacks him with her flowers while she saves the girls by pressing the button as it stops Mojo's rope from moving and she gets the girls, after when the girls are free, they all attack Mojo for what they did. Blossom later apologized for what she did earlier, Brunette was happy that she apologized, she also told the girls that she is from another universe where she is as powerful as the girls except that there are no villains in her universe. Her family thought of moving into the PPG universe as she believed it would be more fun here. The girls plans to play Sonic the Hedgehog so Brunette joins them to have fun.
- PPG vs Team Sonic: Blossom and Sonic later found a chaos emerald, as they found each other, Blossom wanted Sonic's chaos emerald while Sonic wanted her chaos emerald so they challenge themselves in a race to take the chaos emeralds. Bubbles and Tails were tired of being treated like babies but Tails himself deals with it anyway. Bubbles later said as they're literally the members of Team Sonic and the Powerpuff Girls and are brave, people failed to see that. Tails later responded that he is more brave than Bubbles. Bubbles said that she's more brave than he is. Tails fail to see that and later asked "Oh really?". Bubbles said "Yeah really." so Tails challenged her in a battle between most of their enemies to see who's braver. Buttercup and Knuckles had a good time fighting Mojo, Knuckles said that they're the strongest fighters of all, Buttercup said herself that she is definitely the strongest of all, Knuckles said that she isn't since Knuckles is. Buttercup said he's not even close so Knuckles challenged her in a battle. Brunette asked if Blossom's sure about running with Sonic. Blossom's sure about it so Brunette starts counting and shoots whenever the countdown is done. While Sonic was running faster, Blossom thought of a way to outrun him during the race. Tails and Bubbles uses cameras for their battles so that they can show themselves how fearless they can be. They were waiting for an enemy to appear, however it took them hours until Eggman and Mojo appeared. Bubbles gets a giant building and aim it towards Mojo as it hits him, Tails tries to stop Eggman's giant robot but couldn't so he think of a plan to stop him, while he thinks of a plan, the giant robot broke the camera as well as the fact Mojo breaking Bubbles' camera. Mojo later on send a horde of enemies, Bubbles fought as well as Eggman summoning a bunch of a giant robots so as they realized they wanted to show how fearless they can be, Tails and Bubbles gets extremely angry as Tails gets a tree and uses it as his weapon to repeatedly stab the robots' bodies. Bubbles repeatedly attacks her enemies as her enemies couldn't even attack, Mojo and Eggman wanted them to stop and instead wanted them to back off as they are tired of fighting them. Bubbles uses her teleporter to check how Tails' doing. Tails noticed Bubbles is extremely angry, Bubbles respond saying she showed how fearless she can be. Tails said "So am I!" and both screamed "Yeah" after. Few hours ago, Blossom tries using her invention to outrun Sonic. Blossom presses the button as she runs faster than Sonic, Sonic later on stopped running and was proud at Blossom winning so he gave Blossom the chaos emerald. They noticed Tails fighting, Blossom asked if they will help Tails, Sonic said "Nah it seems like he can do it on his own." so Blossom check on Bubbles. Sonic records Tails as he liked how bad Tails was during the battle. Blossom saw that Bubbles is in the same situation as well so Blossom records Bubbles as well. Few hours later, Blossom and Sonic shows Bubbles and Tails the battles to see who's braver, however it ended up in a tie as Blossom said so Bubbles and Tails fight each other while Sonic and Blossom left Sonic's house. Buttercup questioned why Knuckles can't stop moving, Knuckles responds with him saying he's a good dodger and ended up punching Buttercup after. Buttercup grabs Knuckles, send him up very high, and repeatedly punches at him. Buttercup responds with her saying that Knuckles will find out who's the winner after this. Buttercup hits Knuckles so hard to many walls. Knuckles started screaming and realized that he is close to the Master Emerald so he uses it against Buttercup and ALMOST defeat her with it. Knuckles thought he won and even no longer turns hyper after that but Buttercup later woke up saying that she's not done yet. Buttercup kicks Knuckles and even punches him so high as she cracks his teeth. She was distracted by Tails and Bubbles' fight so Knuckles hit her. Knuckles laughed and glides down, Buttercup said "Let's finish this!" as she gets Knuckles, goes up to space, and send him very hard to the ground as it makes a big hole in Green Hill which leads to Knuckles' defeat. Knuckles wakes up and doesn't want to attack anymore as he give up so Buttercup apologized for what she did as well as the destruction she did in Green Hill Zone so Knuckles and Buttercup wanted to fix it but Bubbles and Tails are still fighting. Tails respond with him saying that punches can hurt him but he can use this as he starts spindashing, jump, and kick Bubbles' face. Bubbles said that hurt and even started kicking Tails down to the ground leading to Tails' defeat as Bubbles said she is fearless and send Tails so hard up on the sky as she send him back to Sonic's house after. Blossom and Sonic loved the battles. Buttercup asked if they are done since they did enough destruction. Blossom was about to ask what she means until she saw all of the destruction that was done so everyone later on fixed both Townsville and Green Hill Zone. Bubbles and Tails also apologized for what they did in the end while Buttercup brags about the girls being the winners. Blossom, Bubbles, and Team Sonic left with Buttercup asking why they left while Brunette is still in the PPG house.
- The Unlucky One: Dr. Eggman is sick and tired of losing to Team Sonic and the Powerpuff Girls so he gets Mojo and the Rowdyruff Boys for help by using his portal to teleport to the PPG universe, he breaks in to Mojo's base and tells him that he needs help, Mojo questioned how they are supposed to defeat Team Sonic and the girls when there's six of them, Eggman told Mojo that they can use their robots and even The Rowdyruff Boys for help. So Eggman goes to his universe with Mojo to summon his giant robots and make them go to the PPG universe. Sonic wondered what Mojo will do next, Blossom got a call from Tails saying that Eggman teleported to the PPG universe and he brought a bunch of giant robots and the Rowdyruff Boys with each other, Blossom later on got a call that is similar so she said to Tails that it's the other line, Blossom warned Sonic that Eggman returned and teleported in the PPG universe, Sonic was shocked and goes with Blossom to see what's going on. Eggman said to Sonic that he made a new friend with the girls' arch-nemesis. Sonic asked what Eggman is doing here. Eggman said that with Mojo's help, he will finally defeat the girls and Team Sonic. Sonic respond with him saying that he will not get away with this so he requests Blossom to send him up to Eggman's eggmobile, Blossom send him up there but Brick attacked Sonic before he got a chance to get to his eggmobile, Blossom forgot to mention that the Rowdyruff Boys are here too so Blossom thought of a new plan. She gets the girls and Tails and Knuckles to fight Mojo and Eggman's robots while she and Sonic fights the Rowdyruff Boys. As they start fighting Mojo and Eggman's robots, the battle was harder for Blossom and Sonic as they easily get defeated while Tails and Bubbles was injured so Knuckles and Buttercup stopped their robots while Knuckles has to protect Tails and Bubbles as Buttercup is gonna stop the boys. However Buttercup was defeated easily as well as Knuckles after Buttercup's defeat. Bubbles and Tails wanted to help but they're injured so they get Amy and Cream for help. Cream responds with her saying that she can't stop Mojo nor Eggman. Tails said that they still need help, without them, they can't fight Mojo or Eggman, Amy responds with her saying "Fine, we will help stopping them.". Cream questioned that if Sonic and Blossom are defeated then who should lead. Tails knows someone that could help. Brunette later joined Tails and the girls, she got a plan to stop them, apparently Tails need to hack through Eggman and Mojo's robots so they would stop moving, however Tails' arm is injured so Brunette thinks of a new plan, she and Cream needs to find the device that will deactivate their robots, however she needs Amy to distract them so that they get their chance. Brunette tells Amy to be careful and even told Bubbles and Tails to stay in the house for a while. Brunette, Amy, and Cream starts hiding in Mojo's base as she hear their plans. While Amy distracts the boys and robots, Brunette and Cream tells Eggman and Mojo to put their friends down, however they refused to. Cream asked what they're gonna do with them. Mojo opened a place that is filled with so much water, their plans was to tie them with a rope and put them in water. Cream and Brunette tries stopping them but they were captured. Amy was stuck in a death end as she tries to run much longer and even defend herself but Brick breaks her hammer. Bubbles and Tails later appeared to help Amy, however they were also stuck in the death end so they used Bubbles' robots and the chaos emeralds to help them giving them a better chance to stop the Rowdyruff Boys. Brunette thought of a way to escape Mojo's trap by using Bubbles' robots to untie both Brunette and Cream. Brunette, Cream, and Bubbles' robots starts attacking Mojo and Eggman and even find something to deactivate their robots. Brunette and Cream found the devices so they deactivate Mojo and Eggman's robots while Mojo and Eggman are defeated, now as Brunette realized their friends were drowning, she saved them and sent them to the hospital after. Before 3 weeks happened, Brunette was the leader of both Team Sonic and Powerpuff Girls after when Blossom and Sonic are sent to the hospital, 3 weeks later, since Blossom and Sonic are now okay, she is no longer gonna lead both Team Sonic and Powerpuff Girls and let Blossom and Sonic be the leaders again.
- Voice Impressions: Sonic asked Tails what he's making, apparently Tails is making a voice impression device, Sonic asked what it does, Tails said that it can do voices of other people, if Sonic tries voicing Knuckles then it's accurate, Sonic wants to try it but Tails doesn't let him to since Tails is still working on it. Tails suggests to Sonic that he will try it later instead. Later on, Tails told Sonic and Knuckles that he finally finished it. Knuckles asked what the invention does so Sonic tells him that it can do voices of other people, if Knuckles tries voicing Tails then it sounds exactly like him. Sonic takes the voice impression device and sings the end song of the PPG, Tails took it back and wanted Knuckles to try it. Knuckles tried voicing Eggman, Sonic was laughing that Knuckles is voicing Eggman. Tails will take the device for now, he said to them that he really need this for a contest so he doesn't want Sonic and Knuckles touching the device. Later on that night, Sonic took the device and wanted the girls to try it. However Blossom tries warning him that Tails needs it for a contest, Sonic asked on how Blossom know all of this, Blossom said that Tails called him. Sonic forced Blossom to try it so Blossom apparently had to because of Sonic. Blossom takes the device and voices Sonic. Bubbles and Buttercup hears Blossom so they want to try it. Blossom attempts to voice Brunette until Bubbles and Buttercup appeared, Blossom gave the device to them but she said to them to return it to Sonic after. Bubbles and Buttercup respond saying okay while Buttercup voices Knuckles. After that, Buttercup passes the device to Bubbles as Bubbles wanted to voice Tails. Blossom assume that they're done so she wanted to get the device but then the girls ended up arguing and even accidently breaking the device. Blossom tries fixing it but she needs Sonic and the girls to help her. After when it is finished, Blossom wanted them to hide in Sonic's house and even putting the invention there but Tails already appeared taking the invention and even blaming Sonic and the girls for it. Blossom was mad at them for what they did and even left. Sonic and the girls eventually started to regret it and wanna make this right for both Tails and Blossom. Sonic tells Tails that it is his fault and he doesn't want the girls to get blamed for this. Tails said that it's good Sonic admitted it and even apologized to the girls for blaming her. Bubbles and Buttercup however also blamed themselves for this since they didn't listen to what Blossom said. When Blossom hear their conversation, she respond with her saying why she would bother forgiving them in the first place. Sonic, Bubbles, and Buttercup promised that they will do anything, Blossom want. Blossom thinks about it and thought about getting a day off for her and Tails. Tails was thankful and Sonic, Bubbles, and Buttercup even showed the invention instead of Tails during the contest. Tails won for being the greatest inventor as Brunette gave him the trophy. Brunette asked where's Cream. Tails responds with him saying that Cream is in the Sonic universe. Brunette took Bubbles' teleporter and teleport there. Sonic, Bubbles, and Buttercup fights Mojo while Blossom goes with Tails.
- Thanksgiving Special: Blossom and the Professor almost got every food ready in their list, all they need is just the turkey, however Blossom accidentally hit Sonic and apologized. Sonic asked if that's a list, Blossom has. Sonic said to Blossom that he needed turkey for the Utonium Residence too. Blossom said she was just about to invite him and everyone so Sonic threw away his list and rather stick with Blossom's list so they get the turkey. Later on, Blossom got everyone ready so she told everyone that they can go in now. Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Cream, and Brunette came with them saying hello. Bubbles and Buttercup respond with them saying "Hey guys!". Bubbles said to Tails to sit with her. Buttercup said the same to Knuckles. Blossom and Sonic are now getting the food ready, Blossom asked if Sonic got the guide book. Blossom asked how the mashed potatoes going, Sonic said it's going pretty well and he even smelled it. Blossom and Sonic got all of the food ready, however when Blossom and Sonic left, Buttercup and Tails attempt to eat all of the food while Bubbles and Knuckles attempts to stop them so Buttercup forced them to fight her and Tails. Brunette, Amy, Cream, and the Professor tries stopping them but couldn't. Brunette said that they're so immature while Amy agrees. Brunette and the others even questioned where Bubbles and Knuckles went. Apparently Buttercup and Tails locked them in a room. Sonic and Blossom even questioned what happened to the food and what happened to Bubbles and Knuckles. As when Sonic and Blossom hear a mumbling noise, they open the locked door and untied Bubbles and Knuckles so Bubbles, Knuckles, Tails, and Buttercup starts fighting. The others left just to get other food instead so that they won't be involved in a fight. Buttercup and Tails later on appeared as they apologize for what they did and are gonna pay for their food instead. Eggman and Mojo appeared attempting to attack them but Sonic and Blossom stopped them. Now when that's finished, Buttercup and Tails are now willing to pay. Sonic asked Buttercup and Tails if they want turkey but they were full. Blossom even asked Sonic if he wants some chilidogs, Sonic takes the chilidogs and eats it.
