Antagonists

Heroic Antagonists are the exact inverted opposites of villainous protagonists: a character who is in the opposition to the protagonist yet is heroic in nature; this is usually due to the protagonist being a villain protagonist, and not the "anti–hero" type either, but a true villain, but there are conflicts where both the protagonist and the antagonist are heroes. In short, antagonist heroes are heroes who oppose the protagonist.

These characters are rarely Pure of Heart, because it is very unlikely and odd for an opposing character to actually be that good. In addition, antagonists usually set the heroic standards in their story. However, antagonists can still be Pure Good if they have no corrupting qualities and if the characters around them are visibly comforted or delighted by their actions, thus meaning that they stand out from the rest or if they are in a story where they oppose an villainous protagonist that do harm.
