Scrapegoats aka Megward the Wizards are characters who are awfully abused/humiliated/tortured in an unusual or slapstick manner. These heroes go through pain that they don’t deserve.

Examples include:

  • The Cosmic Plaything: Characters that have a terrible life that rarely improves or gets even worse.
  • The Hurt Immortal: Characters who are revived and killed all over again.
  • Heroes with Bad Publicity: Heroes who intend to perform goodwill or stay out of trouble but meet with unexpected circumstances that could exceedingly damage their good reputations.
  • Falsely Accused Heroes: Heroes who are of a crime they didn’t commit. An example is Natalie Octarine, who was framed by Magentark Clover for theft, which led to her being on the run and homeless for a year.
  • The Disaster Inventor: Scientists who create and use inventions to benefit themselves or others, but their creations usually backfire, causing unintended consequences.
  • The Disposable Pawn: that are unjustly mistreated or killed by their cruel leader/master or other villains for their disobedience or once they have outlived their usefulness.
  • The Butt Monkey/The Chew Toy: Heroes that are often put on the receiving end of jokes, such as being abused or humiliated in an unusual or slapstick master.
  • The Woobie: Tragic heroes that suffered from traumatic experiences that could cause them to fall in Despair Event Horizon as it caused the audience to feel pity for them.
  • The Cartwright: Heroes who continuously lose people they care about, to the point that it seems that the world just isn't fair to them.
  • The Abel: Heroes that our forced to fight and in other cases, kill a sibling.
  • The Designated Victim: Heroes that are repeatedly targeted and/or kidnapped by the villains.
  • The Possessed/Brainwashed: Heroes that have been possessed or brainwashed by villains to the point where it’s impossible for them to snap out of their states, so they needed to be killed to prevent further harm to innocent people. A good example of this is Axol, whose possession by SMG0 reached its peak to where he could not be saved and Melony had to kill him to obliterate SMG0 in the end, with reluctance and remorse on her part.
