Devoid is a protagonist created and owned by Twitter user Cherribun.
He is an alternate version of Sonic the Hedgehog that was erased from existence by Dr. Robotnik after the latter had merged himself with the Little Planet during the events of Sonic CD. Thanks to his speed, Sonic was able to escape back to his timeline, but unfortunately, Robotnik had seized control of everything with the power of the Time Stones. Not only that, but a black hole existed where his face should have been, which accidentally sucked Tails inside of it.
In total distress and pain after failing to save everyone and killing his best friend, Sonic, deeming himself unworthy to have the name, calls himself Devoid and dons a mask from a destroyed Badnik to ensure that no one suffers the same fate Tails did. He is Dr. Robotnik's arch-nemesis.
Appearance[]
Devoid looks similar to Classic Sonic, being a short anamorphic Blue Hedgehog. However, he has a color palette that consists of mainly dark blue, broken only by the dark matter that envelops parts of his body. For attire, he wears a magenta scarf and black shoes that are permanently fused to his feet. He also wears a mask that resembles that of a human, which he uses to obscure his face, or rather lack thereof.
Personality[]
Originally a happy go lucky speedster with a sense of freedom, Devoid is literally a shell of his former self. He is immensely depressed and traumatized over his failure to stop Robotnik from taking over the universe. The fact that he absorbed Tails doesn't help either, and has to live with the latter's voice screaming inside his head constantly. He also lacks a lot of self esteem, as he believes he doesn't deserve the name "Sonic" since he was not fast enough to get the job done. Any mention of his former name only fills him with despair and disgust.
Despite this, Devoid does maintain some of his original personality. As such, he possesses enough determination to continue to keep fighting against Robotnik even though doing such seems very bleak. That being said, he's now more than happy to use unsavory means to get the job done.

- Devoid is one of the rare examples of a heroic EXE.
- He was intended to appear in the Friday Night Funkin' mod, Vs. Sonic.EXE as an opponent in a future update prior to the mod's cancellation.
- Originally, Devoid's mask would have been the dismembered head of Metal Sonic.
- Devoid's age is permanently frozen, meaning he cannot physically age.
- Cherribun, creator and owner of him, is also the creator of Grimbo.
