Discord is the titular main protagonist of the DEATH BATTLE! episode, "Bill Cipher VS Discord".
He is a mischievous, all-powerful being, known as a draconequus, who can do virtually anything he wants. While starting off as a foe to the heroes within the show he debuted in. After being freed and left to Fluttershy's care, he would ultimately redeem himself, becoming an ally to the main cast, with him going onto show off his heroism in many ways, including this episode where he puts in his all to try and stop Bill Cipher from completely destroying Equestria. He is Bill Cipher's arch nemesis/rival.
He is voiced by Paul Guyet, who also voiced Silver Surfer and Cole MacGrath.
Appearance[]
Discord takes on the appearance of a creature that is mashed up of several different body parts, including but not limited too, a goat's head, a lion's paw, and a horse's foot, just to name a few. However, ultimately Discord has shown the ability to transform into almost anything he pleases, meaning he doesn't have a concrete appearance.
Personality[]
Discord's personality can be defined by a single word, chaotic. He's often mischievous and a playful trickster who often enjoys playing games. Often using his powers to mess with others, including his own friends (although most of them are ultimately harmless). He's also shown to be rather arrogant, viewing himself highly, basking in the praise Wiz gives him, and not wanting to be upstaged by Bill when it came to cameos in previous episodes. Beyond all of this however, Discord is good natured being at heart, caring deeply for his friends, especially his best friend Fluttershy, and being willing to give up his own life to protect them and the rest of Equestria.
History[]
While he made a few brief cameos in past episodes, Discord would make his ultimate debut in Bill Cipher VS Discord. At first, he is seen messing with the stats interface of his analysis section, however he would make his first physical appearance later on after Boomstick mentions how he doesn't want to have to deal with another Deadpool. Discord then briefly shows off that he had actually made a few brief appearances prior to this episode, and when Wiz asked how exactly his powers worked, Discord responded by snapping his fingers and turning them into their real-life voice-actors, with this completely horrifying the two of them while effectively showing off Discord's mischievous nature.
When it comes to the actual fight itself. It starts off with showing us that Bill has already conquered Equestria, and has turned countless ponies into statues, as well as turning the Main 6 into posters. Discord is seen going through them before coming out of Fluttershy's poster, to which he shows visible sadness in what Bill had done to her.
Seemingly deciding that enough was enough, Discord confronts Bill, with him starting by writing Celestia a letter about how Bill Cipher learned a wonderful lesson about friendship, when Bill visibly gags, Discord throws a pie in his face, destroying his eye for a few seconds. Bill, enraged by this, attacks Discord with a giant fist and the fight officially begins.
Discord starts by attacking Bill with various large desert foods, managing to hit him with one of the ice cream balls, he proceeds to trample Bill with ice cream, even ending it with a cherry on top. Bill however, expectantly broke out of it and began warping reality around him before beginning to attack Discord. Bill at first was confused at what he was doing, and then Discord, having grown to a large size, rises up behind Bill, turns him into a Dorito, and eats. This however is a short-lived victory as Bill bursts out of his head, blowing it up.
Discord then proceeds to creep out of the scenery, laughing along with Bill before the latter attacks him. Leading the two go through several dimensions, the style changing each time, first being claymation, then rubberhose, then sockpuppets, before Discord, having a hand burst out of his mouth, snaps his finger and they are seemingly back in Equestria where the fight continues.
Using large hands, the two opponents squish each other, seemingly trying to kill each other that way, before it is revealed that the two were seemingly fighting with action figures the whole time. Discord, starting to get bored of a stalemate, asks if Bill would like to play a different game, to which the other responds by crushing him with a giant chess piece. Leaving his physical body, Discord turns into a spirit and enters Bill's mind, revealing that he had seen Gravity Falls beforehand and that he knew how he died, fire proceeds to surround them, with Discord's intention clearly being to kill him from the inside. Of which he would actually get rather close to accomplishing.
Ultimately however, Bill has other plans, reaching into his own eye and grabbing Discord's spirit from inside his mind, he confines him, preparing to finish him off. Discord, right before being killed, reveals that the two had been fighting within Bill's original dimension the whole time, and that they weren't fighting in the real Equestria. With this seemingly being his plan the whole time. With Equestria being brought back to normal and Bill once more being locked in his dimension, he proceeds to crush Discord's spirit in rage, but not before the Spirit of Chaos gets the last laugh.

Trivia[]
- When Discord butts into his analysis segment, it is when Boomstick states that he doesn't want another Deadpool. This is referencing how Deadpool, who's a frequent combatant in this series, is also a fourth wall breaking anti-hero, just like Discord is in his debut series.
- Despite making his first physical appearance in this video, Discord had a few minor cameos in previous ones, with him showing this off in the episode itself where it is shown that Discord had changed one of the clouds in a previous episode to look like his face. If you are to go back to see said episode, you can actually see said cloud.
- The plot twist at the end of the Death Battle video actually has hints toward it beforehand. As after Discord had brought him and Bill back to "Equestria" the world looks noticeably different, with the colors being inversed and all of the residents being gone.
- This also seems to imply that Discord knew he was going to lose the fight against Bill, maybe since the very beginning, and had done this entire fight just so he could bring him back to his own world and save Equestria.
- Discord's defeat is rather symbolic, as he ultimately died saving his friends, showing off how much he had grown since the beginning and majorly contrasting Bill, who never redeemed himself and ultimately ended the fight back the way he started.
- Despite losing the fight against Bill. Discord could be considered the unofficial winner with how he accomplished what he set out to do, which was to save Equestria and his friends, and sent Bill back where he came from.
- One of the info panels even states that like with Cosmos, Discord likely can never be destroyed for good as long as chaos exists and that he could possibly reform and might eventually come back to life, although this was speculation and not confirmed.
