Rinne Sonogami is a supporting protagonist from Date A RE:Live and the mother of series protagonist Shido Takamiya.

Backstory[]
Rinne Sonogami makes her debut as she was fighting Isaac Westcott. As he was about to best her, she stabbed the ground with her sword as she was not going to steal what he was after from her since she knew what horrible things he did.
After getting slashed in the abdomen, Rinne apologizes to her children as she will no longer had a chance to see them again and stabbed herself to send the Sephira Crystals she was protecting flying across earth to keep Westcott from stealing them which also dealing severe damage to Westcott which left him unable to touch them.
She then passes on as she dissolves into pink particles.
Chapter 2[]
Within a pink ream Shido found himself in after losing consciousness from the fight between Tohka and Origami, Rinne Sonogami greets him in the form of a disembodied voice as she was happy to see him again.
When Shido asks her who she had been, she explains that she had been so broken she cannot talk as she cannot remember and could only explain only a few things, specifying she cannot explain the strength.
However, she explains she needs help to regain it and explains she was familiar to both him and his sister Mana and he must start the progress of helping her recover by trying to remember the girl he loved.
Chapter 3[]
After Tohka knocks Shido out for his sake, he finds himself in the same realm as before. Rinne explains why Tohka did what she did to him. Rinne asks Shido to try and remember who his childhood friend was.
When Shido watched Tohka's ribbon return to its original shape, he remembers that the ribbon was he gift he gave to her, and she had been the childhood friend he had been looking for.
This prompts Shido to resolve and rush to Tohka and save her from Ellen and Westcott.
Chapter 4[]
As Shido was discussing with Reine about the spirits while Tohka moved in to his residence, he learns more about "the First Spirit" who was no longer alive when she tried to sop Westcott after her Spacequake severely damaged mankind from his forced summoning.
Shido then asked for Rinne, who was still a disembodied voice, to talk and she projected it thanks to Tohka being sealed. This sight caused Rinne to lose her breath and hold her heart out of confusion. As Rinne could not remember her name, she asked to be called Mio.
Reine expresses gladness to meet "Mio" and tell Shido that his home needs to be reconstructed for the other nine spirits to live in once they get sealed.
