The God of Darkness is one of the overarching characters of the RWBY fanfiction White Sheep (written by Coeur Al'Aran), and he's initially one of the two final antagonists alongside the God of Light, before rebelling against his brother and siding with the heroes.

He is one of the two cosmic and nigh-omnipotent deities called the Brother Gods, who created Remnant. The God of Darkness embodies chaos, destruction and darkness where his brother the God of Light embodies order, creation and light. Despite this, the God of Darkness has no vested interest in harming or destroying Remnant and its modern inhabitants, and would be happy to continue leaving them alone if not for the God of Light's plans. He is also the original creator of the Creatures of Grimm and the pools which they spawn from, and he is partly if indirectly responsible for Salem's part-Grimm state.

Although the Brother Gods declared a truce before creating humanity under the ostensible terms that they would work together as equals and in balance, the God of Light manipulated and shafted the God of Darkness for eons to limit his power and ensure Light was dominant, a fact which eventually causes the God of Darkness to rebel against his brother in the present.

After being convinced that the God of Light manipulated him into rejecting his first human worshipper when the Brothers originally turned against Salem in the past, and after toppling his brother as the sole dominant deity, the God of Darkness chooses to spare the whole of humanity including those whom helped him overcome his brother, and he leaves Remnant in peace for its own good.

Personality[]

The God of Darkness, like his brother; is sophisticated and exudes a calm and patient demeanor, unless their mortal creations unpleasantly surprise him, at which point he can break into anger. Not unlike his canon counterpart, the God of Darkness craves worshippers of his own, and is resentful at playing second fiddle to his brother, even if he initially isn't fully aware of how much the God of Light has been shafting him. The latter trait drives the God of Darkness to hold back when he duels the inhabitants of Remnant, and once he realizes how much the God of Light has been depriving and gaslighting him for millennia, it drives the God of Darkness to openly turn against his brother. Being a God who embodies entropy and chaos, the God of Darkness relishes in a good fight and is partly amused by how the people of Remnant have grown in power since his departure. He shows his childish side when openly basking in the heroes' slightly-embellished praises and prayers to him. Upon becoming the sole reigning deity, the God of Darkness proves to be much more reasonable and willing to compromise than the God of Light: he decides that Remnant can remain in balance without the need to immediately exterminate Salem, Ozpin or the Grimm hybrids, because Ozpin and Salem will eventually die of old age after their curses are lifted, while the Grimm hybrids and Silver-Eyed Warriors' continued co-habitation of Remnant will balance their respective Dark and Light out, and he chooses to keep his distance from Remnant so that it can continue better thriving without the Brother Gods' direct interference.
