Godzilla and Mothra (specifically known as "I HATE YOU Godzilla" and "I HATE YOU Mothra" respectively) are the main protagonists of I HATE YOU - Godzilla Edition, a game based on Slimebeast's I HATE YOU creepypasta, but with Godzilla monsters instead of Super Mario characters. In this game, Godzilla and Mothra are the player's monsters. When the Earth received a declaration of war from the Xiliens, the invaders of Planet X, humanity sent Godzilla and Mothra into outer space to fight back against the invading aliens. However, on Planet X, the two guardians would discover that Anguirus, Godzilla's best friend, has betrayed both of them and willingly teamed up with Ghidorah.

Past[]
In the past, Godzilla, Mothra and Anguirus worked together the fight off villainous threats, like Ghidorah and Gigan. However, as the years passed, Godzilla began to join forces with Mothra more than Anguirus, mainly so that Anguirus wouldn't get into fights with monster that he could easily get killed by, and Mothra was always reincarnated in the end. The ankylosaur-like kaiju felt left out and abandoned. Eventually, after years of being left behind by Godzilla and Mothra, as well as losing to so many opponents, Anguirus snapped and began working with Ghidorah to kill Godzilla and Mothra.
I HATE YOU - Godzilla Edition[]
Godzilla and Mothra arrived on Planet X, ready to finally defeat Ghidorah and save the entire galaxy from the invaders of Planet X. They went through a Mecha City level, destroying tanks and jets that attacks them. After that level was finished, they entered a second Mecha City level. However, it was colored a reddish-orange color instead of the usual green, yellow and gray colors. It was also labeled as "OH GOD NO". The two monsters entered the level, fighting off more military vehicles before seeing holograms of Gigan's head, without the vizor, floating in the air. They continued going until they came across a message, written in blood that said "I HATE YOU!". Godzilla and Mothra didn't know who wrote the message, but they shrugged it off and kept going. After destroying another wave of military vehicles, they found another message that said "WHY WON'T YOU DIE?!". Godzilla and Mothra still had no clue who wrote these messages, but they soon completed the level and went to another one.
The next level was a Wilderness level, colored a blueish-gray. Godzilla and Mothra destroyed even more tanks and jets before coming across something they weren't expecting; corpses of themselves, littered across the field. When they approached them, the bodies came to life and attacked them. Godzilla and Mothra fought back against their undead duplicates and made it to the end of the level.
The next level Godzilla and Mothra entered was completely empty, with a rocky ground and small hills in the background. Godzilla and Mothra looked around for a moment before a familiar face walked up to them. It was Anguirus. At first, Godzilla and Mothra were happy to see him, but that happiness turned into shock and sadness when Anguirus revealed that he was working with Ghidorah, due to Godzilla abandoning him to fight against villains with Mothra, and that he finally had enough of losing to every monster he fought against, and it he could kill them both, all monsters would fear him. Anguirus then starting to fight Godzilla and Mothra, leaving the two monsters no choice but to fight back. When the fight was over, Godzilla incinerated Anguirus with his atomic breath. After the mission was over, Ghidorah and the Xiliens were defeated, and Godzilla and Mothra mourned Anguirus' death, feeling remorse and guilt for having to kill their former friend, and that they only left him on Earth to keep in safe from danger. It's unknown what happens to Godzilla and Mothra after the projects ends.

- MUGENWarrior saw a few picture of Godzilla mixes of the I HATE YOU creepypasta, with either Mothra or Anguirus taking the role of Luigi. In his own take, he picked Mothra to be the second player character (or Princess Peach), while Anguirus was picked for Luigi's role. Godzilla took the role of Mario for obvious reasons.
- Because of this, MUGENWarrior's take on I HATE YOU - Godzilla Edition is one of the few playable versions of the I HATE YOU creepypasta to have more than one playable character.
