Kakarot is the main protagonist of the Dragon Ball fanfiction Dragon Ball: The Great Conflict.
He is a high-ranked Saiyan low-class warrior who is part of the latest generation of warriors to serve in a longtime conflict between the Saiyans and the Namekians, who accidentally discovers that the war was actually orchestrated by Frieza as an attempt to eradicate both species. As a result, he teams up with Namekian prince and sergeant Piccolo to defeat Frieza and end the war.
Appearance[]
Kakarot in this universe looked very similar to Goku, albeit for the fact that he did not have any loose hairs on his head, and that he has a scar that evolved from a gunshot wound given to him by a Namekian three years ago (similar to Sergeant Bob Barnes from Platoon)
Personality[]
Unlike his mainstream counterpart, who grew up to be an optimistic, energetic person, Kakarot, due to being born in a war-torn Planet Vegeta and spending his youth on Namek fighting a virtually endless war, became realistic, cynical, and dejected.
In his first years in the army, much thanks to propaganda made by the Saiyan government, Kakarot was far more naïve and impulsive, giving in to his Saiyan instincts and showing an eagerness to fight Namekians. However, this all changed after Raditz's sacrifice, which at that point Kakarot saw the true horror of war.
After being promoted to a high rank among low-class warriors, Kakarot has shown a good amount of efficiency in leading his men, often giving young warriors advice on the battlefield.
Kakarot is also a man who "minds his own business", as he was initially unwilling to partner with Piccolo to bring down Frieza, claiming it to be "Namekian affairs" and only partnering with him upon Piccolo asking him for his side of this.
Due to never experiencing that head injury, Kakarot maintains his Saiyan instincts, often acting aggressively to foes and showing some sort of satisfaction to Frieza's pain, claiming it is "retribution" for his actions. He is also quick to charge into fights, and never backs down when cornered. Despite this, Kakarot still has a good heart and chooses to do "right" more than "wrong", and shows remorse whenever performing the latter.
Kakarot is also rather reckless, willing to put himself in danger, and even sacrifice his life, for the greater good no matter what the others say. This stubborn recklessness would end up becoming both his triumph, and his fall.
