Katelin (also known as Agent 8) is the overarching protagonist of the Inkopolis Chaos trilogy. She is an unseen overarching protagonist of Inkopolis Chaos, one of the two tritagonists of Inkopolis Chaos 2 and one of the three deuteragonists of Inkopolis Chaos 3.
She is an agent of the squidbeak splatoon. She is very friendly and approachable, but she does have a serious side when it comes to missions.
She also returns in the following oneshots: “Agent’s Morning”
Personality
Katelin is a bubbly, friendly, childlike octoling, who is also highly affectionate. This is shown by how often she will just hug her friends. She deeply cares for her friends, as shown on many occasions, with her calming people down, cheering people up or trying to comfort others. She also acts really friendly to people who she just met to try and make a good impression, as shown by her hugging Samuel and Natalie the moment she met them (although to be fair, Sylvia could have told her to do that). She is also very curious, and enjoys trying new things.
Despite her approachable nature, she is shown to take things seriously and will bravely face danger head on. She carefully analyses her surroundings, and makes sure to do things the right way. She also makes sure all her weapons are checked, so they can be used. She can and will defend herself. It also explains how she survived through the metro and defeated Tartar.
However, when she first arrived in Inkopolis, she was completely naive and innocent. She would do silly things, without understanding. For example, she once at a chocolate bar straight from a shops shelf, without paying, and would’ve ended up in trouble had Jade not shown up. However, she has learned since then, and is much more aware now, even though she is still a bit clumsy and naive at times. She’s childish, but in a good way.
Despite how friendly she is, she is also quite emotionally sensitive. She’s prone to crying, bad flashbacks and panic attacks, due to her horrible experience in the metro. She has nightmares often, and has PTSD. She is terrified of blenders, and acts wary around 8-balls. She will also go completely quiet if she’s getting upset, nervous, stressed or if she’s about to have a panic attack.
Heroic Deeds
- Her many actions that happened before Inkopolis Chaos, mostly when she was in the metro, such as:
- Rebelling against Octarian Society, and living amongst the inklings.
- Saving Jade/Agent 3 from Tartar’s control. (GOODNESS ZONE)

- She, alongside Samuel, Natalie and Luke, saved a bunch of octolings from a train that was about to plummet to its doom. (GOODNESS ZONE)
- She helped expose and take down the Octobusters.
- She saved Melissa from being killed by Octobusters.
- She called a backup helicopter, to give her friends a getaway ride from the battlefield.
- She surrendered herself into prison so that Jade and Summer would be free. (GOODNESS ZONE)
- She helped liberate the prisoners of the concentration camps. (GOODNESS ZONE)
- She comforted Sylvia when she was traumatised.
- She comforted Jade when she felt guilty about what happened to Ruby.

Appearance
Katelin is a white skinned female octoling with purple ink, purple eyes, a snowflake hairclip, a blue/white striped shirt, a skirt and purple trainers. She used to have pink ink like Natalie, but she changed her ink colour later. In her agent suit, she gains agent headphones, a black suit and trousers.
Trivia
- Katelin is selected as the overarching protagonist of all Inkopolis Chaos stories, because if not for her, Commander Tartar would’ve destroyed Inkopolis, making the events of Inkopolis Chaos impossible, because they would all be dead.
- She is confirmed to be Pansexual.
