Although i'm not very interested in my talent and i don't show it, i'm still the girl who entered Hope's Peak Academy as the Ultimate Sniper! For the first time in my life, i'm feeling grateful for my talent, because i can protect everyone.
~ Kiyoka Maki during Chapter 0

Kiyoka Maki is a supporting character in the Korean Danganronpa fangame Danganronpa Another. She's the Ultimate Sniper and one of the participants in the Killing Game.

Despite not lasting very long, she proved herself to be one of the most useful members of the class, being fully cooperative during the Killing Game and even saving the students before the events of it.

Personality[]

Kiyoka Maki was a friendly and cheerful person who cared deeply for her classmates. Even during the Killing Game, she was fully optimistic and cooperative, wanting her classmates to stay positive and form bonds with each other. She believed that, in the dark situations like they were in, staying positive and ignorant of her surroundings was the best way to act. Despite this, even Kiyoka was heavily concerned about the Killing Game, especially the part where they could live there forever.

Although her talent is the “Ultimate Sniper”, she didn’t actually like her talent that much, only seeing it as a boring skill that she simply happened to be good at. The only things she liked about her shooting skills were the fact that she could use it to protect her friends and that it gave her an opportunity to enroll in Hope’s Peak. Thanks to her talent, she has 100% accuracy using any kind of weapons, even the ones she isn't familiar with.

Maki’s main goal in life is to have fun, mostly by traveling around the world and going to park attractions, but also by hanging out with friends and doing things she hasn’t done before. One of her main complaints about the Killing Game is that the aspects were boring and prevented her from having fun properly. One of Kiyoka’s goals was also to find the perfect boyfriend, with it being implied that she fell in love with Yuki Maeda, due to her seeing no valid flaws in him. She constantly denies this, however.

She has a habit of often speaking without properly thinking about it, only realizing what she said seconds later and regretting it. She claims to have this habit ever since she was six years old. This results in her accidentally making fun of others and even made her accidentally confess to Yuki once.

Biography[]

Background[]

Kiyoka Maki was invited to enroll in Hope's Peak as the "Ultimate Sniper" due to her skills involving weapons, being able to accurately shoot at anything with perfect accuracy. She became part of the class of 79.

She and the other students spent a few months at Hope's Peak until one day, The Tragedy instigated by Junko Enoshima happened, the world was plunged into chaos thanks to the Ultimate Despair and Monokuba robots. Yamato Kisaragi, one of the students of class 79, was able to rescue all of his classmates and brought them to his truck, in order to take them to a safe place.

During the ride, a few Monokuma robots started getting closer to the truck in order to attack the students. Yamato tried to destroy them but was only able to hit one. Maki, knowing her talent, picked up Yamato's gun and started shooting at the Monokuma robots, destroying all of them without a single shot missing. At some point, another Monokuma robot got closer without the rest noticing, but Mitsuhiro was able to knock him out by kicking a ball into it. He took the opportunity to proclaim himself as "Maki's life saver" and asked her on a date, which she rejected.

After a long time, Yamato brought them safely to the Research Laboratory owned by Kisaragi Foundation, where they would be seemingly protected from the chaos happening outside. But their safety didn't last long, as Utsuro and Akane Taira brought the Monokuma robots inside, which started attacking the students and killing the employees.

Maki used a gun to shoot and destroy some of the Monokumas like she did last time. She was almost attacked by one but Mitsuhiro threw himself in front of Maki, getting attacked instead to save her. She continued fighting and managed to destroy 70% of the Monokuma army before getting knocked out by Akane Taira. After all the class 79 students were knocked out, their memories were erased to make them think they had just joined Hope's Peak, and were put on the first floor of the laboratory, which was disguised as Hope's Peak first floor.

Prologue[]

After Yuki Maeda walked into "Hope's Peak", he met with other 14 Hope's Peak students, including Kiyoka. Akane suggested that everyone should introduce each other, which Kiyoka agreed to. Yuki seemed to recognize Kiyoka and her abilities upon their introductions.

Later, during the entrance ceremony, Monokuma appeared and explained the rules of the Killing Game, about how they're bound to live imprisoned in that school forever and the only way to escape is by committing murder. Kiyoka was in denial the whole time, thinking she was being pranked, but she later faced the situation seriously.

Chapter 1[]

Tsurugi Kinjo, who decided to act as a leader for the other students, created a plan for all participants to investigate for clues inside the location and meet at the dining hall every morning to discuss them, in order to find a way to defeat Monokuma and escape from the facility.

Kiyoka Maki mentioned that, during the investigation, she tried breaking the entrance door with the other girls but it didn't work. Overall, the students couldn't find very useful clues.

Three days after the Killing Game started, Monokuma appeared during one of the dining hall meetings. Disappointed at the fact a murder hadn't happened yet, Monokuma decided to share a motive for them to kill. He told them that there were DVDs in the AC/VC room that they should check out. Yuki Maeda decided to check them out first and, after everyone heard his yells, everybody checked their own DVDs as well.

The contents of every video showed something bad happening to the specific viewer's family or something similar, as well as a message saying "what happened to them? Find out after graduation". After that, all students were scared and distrusting of each other, as anyone could be driven to murder in order to escape to see if their family and/or friends were okay.

Later, Haruhiko and Satsuki accidentally bumped into each other which resulted in Haruhiko accidentally breaking Kiyoka Maki and Tsurugi Kinjo's dorm nameplates. Monokuma joked about executing Haruhiko for breaking school property, but he decided to spare him since it was an accident, and instead gave Haruhiko spares of the same nameplates for him to fix it. However, Haruhiko made a mistake and accidentally switched the nameplates, putting Maki's nameplate in Tsurugi's dorm and Tsurugi's nameplate in Maki's dorm.

Mitsuhiro Higa, who loved soccer more than everything and saw that several stadiums were destroyed and many of soccer players went missing on his video, decided he wanted to get out even it if meant murdering someone. He created an elaborate plan which involved luring someone. Using the notepads that Monokuma gave to everyone, Mitch wrote a message telling the victim to come to the laundry room at 6 am. He meant to send it to Tsurugi, but since the nameplates were switched, he accidentally sent it to Maki instead. This resulted in Maki going to the laundry room and getting murdered instead.

Mitch dragged her corpse to the girl's only bathroom, in order to incriminate the female students. Despite all of his efforts, he was eventually found out as Maki's true killer in the class grial. As part of the Killing Game rules, Mitch was then executed for committing a murder and failling to get away with it.
