Letícia Azevedo, simply known as Letícia, is the tritagonist of rezendeevil's 2018 romance YouTube miniseries Apaixonados (In Love).
She is the supportive friend of Virgínia as well as the defender of her right and will to date Pedro, unlike Virgínia's father (initially) and sister.
She was portrayed by the eponymous youtuber Letícia Azevedo.
Trailer (Non-Canon)[]
In the trailer, Letícia is sitting beside Virgínia next to her pool as Virgínia tells her she was liking a boy but was struggling in meeting him because her father would be angry at them just for talking. Letícia initially gets happy for her for liking someone, but laments when she says that her father didn't like him simply for being poor, and she stays there trying to comfort her.
Biography[]
It's heavily implied that Letícia grew up being Virgínia's closest friend in school, and it lasts until the present events. When both are grown, they still stay best friends, especially after Virgínia having her heart broken by her crush who started dating another of her best friends, and she states that it was sort of better so it confirmed her which of both were her true best friend, which was Letícia. At the beginning, Letícia is at a trip to Balneário Camburiú, while Pedro starts his new job as the new caretaker in Virgínia's house. Both stay in touch with each other, as they talk through the phone from time to time, either from regular voice calls or text messages. Virgínia once calls Letícia to catch up with her and tells the events of the past days. Virgínia tells her about Pedro, whom she had already told her about before, and the trouble they both had with her father Mr. Palomino because Virgínia's sister Ana had told him that Pedro was asking Virgínia out, and that she asked for his number later on. Apparently, Letícia suggested Virgínia to enjoy having his number and text him later, which she does.
Letícia comes back from her trip a few days later and reunites with Virgínia. On the way in, Pedro presents himself to her and tells her about his current job at Virgínia's home. Both Letícia and Virgínia yell happily to see each other again, and they go to Virgínia's room and leaves Pedro fixing the fridge. An hour past catching up with Virgínia, Letícia decides to leave, saying she had to unpack her luggage from her trip, much to the surprise of both Virgínia and Pedro. On the way out, Pedro sees Letícia as more friendly that the others around him besides Virgínia and decides to tell her about his feelings for Virgínia and asked her for some advice. Letícia says that she was the opposite of her sister Ana, because Ana was very discriminatory against him and was afraid Virgínia was a little too. Thankfully, Letícia was close enough to Virgínia to claim otherwise to Pedro and that she wouldn't consider his poverty to get in an affair with him. Pedro also implored her to keep it a secret, which she agrees with.
The next day, Virgínia calls Letícia and invites her to come over to her house, because she had just had a fight with Ana in the living room. Letícia agrees and heads to her house. When they get to Virgínia's room, Virgínia says she was curious to know what Pedro and her had talked about when she left the day she came from her trip. Letícia showed some reluctance in telling her straight off what Pedro had told her because she had promised to keep it a secret, but felt forced to tell everything because Virgínia wouldn't stop insisting her to spill it all, even telling her that he had begged not to tell her. Letícia seems to consider it a chance to boost their relationship forward and help her to get with him. She tells Virgínia, who was blanking on what to do after Letícia told her his secret, that Ana would leave later that day to go to a party and also brings up the fact Virgínia said her father would be home later than usual that day, so she should enjoy it to go and talk to Pedro and settle their feelings for one another. With that, Letícia leaves a while later and Virgínia is successful in making Pedro confess his love to her, even leading to their first kiss, although Pedro has gotten a little intimidated with Virgínia.
With the first kiss, Pedro and Virgínia agreed that the relationship had advanced a long way, the reason of which Virgínia decided to tell her father about their affair. It didn't go as Virgínia wanted, however. Palomino still didn't agree with them being in love, grounding Virgínia by taking her phone away from her and even firing Pedro. Virgínia, then, calls Letícia to tell her about the extreme decisions her father had just taken. With Virgínia crying, she could already assume something bad had happened. Virgínia tells her the whole thing and even she feels bad for both her and Pedro for loosing his job. She suggests she went to her home to comfort her but Virgínia declines and says she wanted some alone time to at least try to soothe her mind off of it, and both hang up as Letícia hopes the best for her.
With all the trouble, Pedro and Virgínia meet again at the plaza they had met the first time Pedro had asked Virgínia out. Despite considering all the bad stuff that's happened and could still happen if they kept dating, they agree to date secretly from everybody else. Virgínia invites Letícia over again to tell her about their decision. Both girls cheer in happiness after Virgínia reveals her plan with Pedro to date in secret, but as much as Letícia was happy about it, she also tells that Virgínia, sooner or later, had to tell her father the truth about everything and stand up for herself to assure that she had the right to date whoever she fell in love with and that he had no right to control her or her decisions. Virgínia even decides to take a selfie with her as a symbol of their happiness and Letícia congratulates her and wishes her happiness as well.
Since Palomino had taken Virgínia's phone, she could communicate with anyone that easily, so Letícia agreed to be their "source of communication" and visit each other in their respective homes to forward what one had to tell the other. Letícia pays a visit at Pedro's house to tell her about the chance they would have that same day to meet each other, since Virgínia had told her that her father was said to return later from work and that it would give them an opportunity to meet and catch up, even if it's at the front door of Virgínia's house. Pedro appreciates her efforts to make them stay in touch and even pities her a little for having to go to one house to the other, though Letícia says she didn't mind because she was happy for their love and wanted to see them happy together as well.
Even though the couple met at Virgínia's entrance, they were unexpectedly caught by Palomino, who was still against their interaction. Virgínia was so done with him pushing her around over her love for Pedro that she threatened to run away from home if he insisted controlling her life, which made Palomino finally accept their romance. Letícia doesn't appear from that point, but it's highly likely that Virgínia told her the news and got happier for them than ever the same way.
Personality[]
As Virgínia states, Letícia has always been her most loyal friend, especially after the deception she had with her crush Guilherme, who, despite knowing of her feelings for him, started dating another of her best friends, claiming that the advantage of it was that she was now sure which of both her best friends was actually loyal to her, and that was Letícia.
Letícia also stands out as the most friendly character in the series around Pedro and Virgínia. In contrast with Ana, who was always nagging and selfish, Palomino was also friendly, however, both Palomino and Ana weren't supportive with Pedro and Virgínia's romantic interest for each other. Even when Virgínia seemed to still feel bad about her crush cheating on her, Ana didn't show the faintest sign of sympathy to her and just kept talking about herself. Letícia on the other hand, was the utter oposite of both Palomino and Ana at the same time. She was supportive with Pedro's crush on Virgínia and would be happy to see them together, even assuring him that Virgínia wasn't like Ana and that she wouldn't care for his poverty if she found out he liked her.
Letícia is always willing to help her friends with whatever they need, as Virgínia calls her several times during the story and she never lets her down. She also shows to be selfless when she notices Virgínia's sadness and offers herlself to personally soothe her away from her negative feelings, such as the time Virgínia had a fight with Ana, making her angry, and when Palomino fired Pedro, feeling bad for both of them. In fact, Letícia was so determined for Pedro and Virgínia to succeed in their romance that, when Virgínia got grounded, she says that she proudly would make both stay in touch with each other by personally going to each of their homes to forward one's news and messages to the other, with which Pedro was very grateful for.
