Mario is the playable character of the "I HATE YOU" Creepypasta and the Super Mario World ROM Hack of the same name made by Ersanio.
Biography[]
I HATE YOU[]
The game began with the player spawning in the Sunken Ghost Ship level, controlling Mario. As they played through the level, they saw a boo lurking in the corner of the screen on top of a pipe, and the boo was missing its eyes. Fortunately, the player managed to find a key, and they continue on their journey, exiting the level. When they returned to the map, the eyes on Bowser's head began bleeding as a whirlpool suddenly appeared next to it, allowing the player to access a level named "OH GOD NO". Mario, scared yet curious, entered the level.
The level started with Mario entering a castle before a message popped up, saying "You are invincible now!". The player then ends up in a narrow hallway filled with blind boos. After a while, a bleeding Banzai Bill passes through Mario, and Mario comes across a message written in blood, which said "I HATE YOU!". As Mario progressed through the level, he encountered 3 big boos which had gleeful and demented expressions on their faces. Soon after, Mario finds another message that said "WHY WON'T YOU DIE?". After reaching the end of the hallway, the player entered a pipe, leading to an underwater castle level. In the level, the player found Thwomps covered in blood and repeatedly crushing the ground, even though Mario wasn't near them. After getting past the Thwomps, the player entered an area with spikes on the floor and the ceiling, along with dead Mario clones, and as the player moved forward, the clones started chasing them.
After escaping the Mario clones, the player finds two things: a pipe and a Mushroom with a creepy face. If the player touches the Mushroom, a jumpscare will be triggered and they will be sent back to their previous location. If the player enters the pipe and enters a boss door, they'll be taken to a boss room, similar to Ludwig's boss room, which was a bridge over lava. After Mario looked around for a short while, Luigi suddenly appeared to reveal his true colors to Mario, as he confesses to being responsible for the eerie messages. Luigi then proceeds to jump on Mario, stomping on him until he stops moving. He then struck a victory pose, thinking that he won. However, in an act of desperation, Mario gets back up, punches Luigi, and kicks him off the bridge, accidentally knocking him into the lava below. Mario watched in horror as Luigi burned alive in the lava, screaming "OH GOD NO!". Despite the betrayal, Mario sat down and mourned his brother's death.
After the game is over, the End screen appeared. The family-photo-like picture of Mario, Luigi and Princess Peach now looked way different. Mario stared at a burnt Luigi with a disappointed, yet sad expression on his face, and Peach was crying from fright. River Twygz Bed plays in the background for a few moments before a jumpscare occurs, then the game closes by itself.
