Mary Schmidt is the main protagonist of the horror film Darkside of Memories, based on the events of Five Nights at Candy's 3.
Biography[]
On September 15, 1962, Rat and Cat were murdered, Aaron Schmidt was concerned that his daughter Mary was still inside and found her scared.
On September 20, 1962, Mary was so scared that she couldn't even eat breakfast and as soon as her father went to give her the Origami Cat, she ran away to her room, her father called Dr. Malcom to help, at night Mary tried sleeping and then Vinnie appeared at the window wanting to have fun, he even brought candies in his hand, when Mary opened the window, Vinnie grabbed it and Monster Rat and Monster Cat also appeared and Mary was killed by Vinnie, as soon as Mary's father entered the room, he found out that Mary had a very scary nightmare.
On September 21, 1962, her friend Mac Harrison wanted to go to Mary's house for the two of them to play with toys, Mary had a flashback to the murder that had happened, Mary was scared and ran away, Dr. Malcom came to her house to help and she told him about the nightmare she had the night before, so Dr. Malcom gave her a tape player to help Mary sleep, the next night, Mary used the tape player to try to sleep and managed not to hear Vinnie, on a beautiful morning, Mary found her mother who went down in the basement, Mary followed but couldn't find her, she found a ball on the floor with an arrow pointing forward and she found Monster Cat, she tried to escape by the stairs and was caught, she had her right arm pulled out by Monster Cat and started to cry in fear until Vinnie appeared.
On September 24, 1962, Dr. Malcom discovered that the nightmares only got worse, so he brought a Vinnie doll for Mary to look at and try to overcome the fear, in Deepscape, she found her old wooden horse, she had a flashback from her late mother and then she was attacked by Monster Rat, the doctor later told Aaron Schmidt that the nightmares did not originate from the murder that is happening in the theater but came from Mary's childhood.
On September 25, 1962, Mary went to walk again in Deepscape and found her cart there, she had a flashback from Mac Harrison offering her a cart on her seventh birthday, when Dr. Malcom asked what triggered the nightmares, she went away remembering more than what happened that day, at night and after falling back asleep, Mary began to dream of her playing hide and seek with Mac Harrison, when hiding in the closet, she found her imaginary friend Lollipop, she left scared and then appeared Vinnie, Lollipop counted to ten and attacked Mary, the doctor discovered that Mary had an imaginary friend, Mary asked Dr. Malcom what they could do in which he replied that they could not do anything, back to Deepscape, Mary found a toy robot, she then remembered when she and Lollipop went to face a robot, the robot hit Lollipop lightning but Mary managed to defeat him alone, Lollipop later appeared in Deepscape disgusted that Mary abandoned him and she said she didn't want to, she showed him a bracelet that the two of them made together and became best friends again, she later spoke to Dr. Malcom that she started to overcome her fears, in another dream, Mary made a drawing of Lollipop and then she heard her mother calling, as soon as she went there, she found out that she is not here and then Mary found Vinnie sitting on the couch, she went to try to face him but Vinnie turned into an even more monstrous version and arched the bottom of Mary, Mary started to believe that she would never get over her fear and the doctor said that only she could cure that fear, back in Deepscape, Mary found a toy duckling and had another flashback from her late mother, Dr. Malcom later confirmed to Aaron Schmidt that her nightmares originated because of her mother's death and that she would only be healed if she moved on, the next night, Mary dreamed of her returning to the theater and there she met Vinnie again, she tried to face him again z and the Monster Rat came out from under the ground, Mary had to run and hide, she started to remember more of what happened that day and was attacked by Monster Rat.
On September 28, 1962, Dr. Malcom came to try to help her again, Mary went back to Deepscape and found a cup of tea there, so she had another flashback when her mother made the Origami Cat and shortly after she died, remembering that, Mary was scared of death and her father said that Mary's late mother will always be alive in their hearts, shortly after Dr. Malcom last came to try to help her, so Mary completely remembered what happened in that day (Rat was pushed to the edge of the table and killed after a fight with Puppeteer and Cat was choked to death by Puppeteer when he tried to call the police), when she left after learning the truth, Vinnie came back to try to scare her and Mary tried to face him a third time, luckily Monster Rat and Monster Cat betrayed Vinnie and Mary overcoming her fear for him made him disappear forever, shortly after overcoming fear, Mary and her father went to visit the grave of the mother.
8 years later, Mary (now grown up) joined Mac Harrison again, after he disappeared and Mary went to look for him, a boy had an accident.
