Melody Rose is a major character in the Inkopolis Chaos trilogy, serving as a tetartagonist/major character in all 3 stories. She is a shy, insecure and introverted inkling who doesn’t like turf wars, but instead plays video games.
She is a common bullying victim, especially by Scarlet, who she has had many problems with prior to her defeat.
She also returns in the following oneshots: “Autism”
Melody is extremely timid and shy. She has issues talking to new people, and is too shy to play in turf wars, as she mentions, and she used a charger in the final battle. She was terrified of Scarlet, and begins to cry almost every time she comes near her, due to the latters constant bullying. She hasn’t had many friends until she met Samuel, Luke and Sylvia, who she considers to be great. Although she is shy, she is willing to fight alongside her friends if it’s for the greater good. She even stood up against Scarlet in the final battle of the third story, showing that she has gotten braver due to experience.
When you get to know her, she is very kindhearted, and is a very nice person. She doesn’t like seeing others hurt, even those who deserve it. She also lacks any corrupting qualities, unlike most of the other main protagonists. She easily sympathises with anyone who is hurt, as she is shown caring for an injured and suicidal Ruby.
Heroic Deeds
She helped prove Natalies innocence.
She got over her fear and faced Scarlet’s gang alongside her friends.
She helped save octolings from the Octobusters.
She crashed Cyalux’s event after the octolings were freed, by shooting at the lights with her charger, in an attempt to injure Cyalux so everyone could escape, but not enough to kill him.
She helped expose the octobusters.
She is very reluctant to take a life.
She helped free octolings from their brainwashing, aiming for the shades.
She helped liberate the concentration camps. (GOODNESS ZONE)
She helped rescue Cap’n Cuttlefish, Callie, Marie and Bethany.
She fought in the final battle against Lieutenant Obsidian and her army, providing essential sniping support and ropes as well, helping the heroes get by and into places easier.
After years of being tormented by her, in the climax of the third story, she finally stood up against Scarlet, protected the pilot and kicked her out of the helicopter, showing she would no longer let Scarlet bully her.
Despite being rich, she takes absolutely no pride in it, and actually goes out of her way to hide it, so her family won’t get hurt.

Appearance
Melody is a female, black skinned purple inkling who has cut hair, purple eyes, a blue cap, a striped sweater, shorts and pink trainers. She is also quite short. In her agent suit, she gains agent headphones, and a pink/purple coat.
Trivia
In earlier drafts, Melody and Luke effectively had opposite personalities. Luke was much more introverted, while Melody was extroverted, but also with high self pride. Obviously, this was changed.
