Papyrus is the tritagonist of EnchantedMob's Undertale Minecraft animation series, serving as one of the overarching antagonists of Judgement, one of the two deuteragonists (alongside Sans) of To The Bone, a minor character in I Am Flowey, and one of the two secondary antagonists (alongside Sans) of Way Deeper Down.
He is a tall, living skeleton monster and is also Sans' younger brother. In contrast to Sans, Papyrus is a passionate, cranky, eccentric, reckless, boisterous, and dimwitted person who wants to capture Frisk so he can become a royal guard. However, his own carelessness prevented him from achieving his dream.
In To The Bone, his singing voice was provided by JT Music, who also provided the singing voice of Sans from the same animation. In Way Deeper Down, his singing voice was provided by Gregory "The Stupendium" Holgate, who also provides the singing voices of Sans and W.D. Gaster from the same animation.
Biography[]
Judgement[]
Papyrus appears briefly, where he is killed by Frisk (who is possessed by Chara) by cutting his head off. His death was one of the reasons Sans wanted to kill Frisk as revenge.
To The Bone[]
Papyrus awakens a sleeping Sans and tells him that a human has fallen from the surface of the Surface World. After telling Papyrus an annoying pun, Sans and Papyrus meet the human who turns out to be Frisk. They welcomed her and invited her to see the Underground. However, Papyrus acted lacked manners when stating his intention to show off Frisk to the monsters so he could become popular. Sans reprimanded him for his lack of manners, to which an angry Papyrus responds by insulting Sans as "lazy and apathetic". The two then told Frisk about the origins of the monster and hoped they could return to the Surface World. They both follow Frisk again and advise her to choose mercy or kill them all. Papyrus then states his intention to capture Frisk, which is then followed by Sans suggesting Papyrus capture him with Papyrus' puzzles. Papyrus takes Sans' suggestion and uses spaghetti as bait. Sans makes a pun about spaghetti by calling it "creepy pasta". An annoyed Papyrus tells Sans to stop joking, which Sans ignores by calling Papyrus "someone's broken funny bone".
Papyrus is seen on the watchtower in his house, stating that he has a dream of becoming a Royal Guard and by capturing Frisk, he can achieve that dream. Papyrus is seen again with Sans who wants to catch Frisk with a Junior Jumble, which is followed by Sans replying that he is not sure Papyrus can catch Frisk with it. Papyrus finally decided to use his special attack. However, before he can attack, Sans annoyed Papyrus by playing his trombone. An annoyed Papyrus tells Sans to leave him alone, but Sans only makes Papyrus even more annoyed by giving him more puns. Papyrus is last seen with Sans recreating the same scene from the original music video.
I Am Flowey[]
Papyrus is only seen twice in this animation, where he runs in a beautiful landscape with Flowey, Sans, Mettaton, Undyne, Muffet, and Lesser Dog.
Way Deeper Down[]
Papyrus is seen walking with Sans. Frisk, who saw the two of them, immediately hid behind a tree. Papyrus orders Sans to wait and keep his eyes out for humans, to which Sans responds by making a joke about his eyes which annoys Papyrus. When Papyrus wasn't looking, Sans apparently started to befriended Frisk and explained several things about him. While talking about his brother, Papyrus appears and asks Sans who he is talking to. Sans immediately covered Frisk's head with a lampshade and said that he was talking to the lamp. Papyrus then left after that.
Papyrus was seen after Frisk was dropped into the grave by the monsters and somehow landed right in front of Papyrus. At first, Papyrus panicked and shouted for the guards, until he realized that he was also a guard and decided to confront Frisk with his electric maze, only for Frisk to successfully get through the maze just as the electricity activated. Papyrus, confused, asked how Frisk got through the maze. Papyrus says that it take three weeks to complete the maze and then he scolds Frisk for answering the maze correctly. Papyrus shows off some of his abilities but gets distracted by a piece of spaghetti on his armor, causing him to forget what he was doing, leaving Frisk confused. Papyrus then shows off his cooking abilities by cutting up some bolognese and proudly proclaiming himself as the "royal chef". However, Sans suddenly appears and interrupts Papyrus by making a pun about his pasta, calling it "pasta-way". An annoyed Papyrus questions Sans' behavior and says he was trying to challenge Frisk who immediately runs away after Papyrus is distracted.
In ending A, Papyrus vows to catch Frisk again, to which Sans teases Papyrus with another pun, once again annoying Papyrus as he pats his face. W.D. Gaster appears and is frustrated with Sans and Papyrus bickering. Gaster tells them both that he'd be leaving as they were both making his skin crawl. Realizing the irony of his statement, he claims he meant it metaphorically.
In ending B, Papyrus shows Sans that he finally to capture a human. When Sans saw this "human", Sans chuckled because it turned out Papyrus only caught the lamp he was using to hide Frisk.
Appearance[]
In Judgement and To The Bone, Papyrus is a tall skeleton with a skull with a more straight and geometric structure. His mouth is often shaped into a smile and his eyes have no pupils, resembling vertical slits with his expression largely formed by his false browbones. His eyebrows are gray. He wears a special costume known as a "battle body", which consists of a white torso with two white insignia, a rough red scarf or cloth around his neck, red gloves (decorated with gold), blue underpants with a gold belt, and shoes. long red boots.
In Way Deeper Down, Papyrus's design is partly the same as before, except that the color of his insignia is changed with the top insignia being red and the bottom insignia being golden yellow.
When showing off his cooking skills, Papyrus wears a long white chef's hat.
Personality[]
In contrast to his brother, Sans, who is lazy, relaxed, and likes to joke around, Papyrus is more serious, cranky, passionate, optimistic, eccentric, boisterous, and full of enthusiasm. He is motivated by his dream of becoming a royal guard, so he will do anything so he can get that position. Papyrus often berates his older brother, Sans, for his laziness and for annoying him with his puns which Papyrus finds "obnoxious". He also often gives subtle challenges and threats to Frisk by telling her what kind of challenges she will face. However, Papyrus is also very dimwitted, careless, and impatient, because by telling Frisk about the challenges she faced, Frisk easily managed to complete the challenges without any difficulties. Papyrus also never plans his plans carefully, which can make Frisk run away from Papyrus' various incompetent plans and instead of seeing his mistakes in designing the challenges, Papyrus instead blames Frisk for completing the challenges correctly.
Despite his flaws, Papyrus is actually a kind and friendly person, because right after Frisk completed his challenge correctly, Papyrus just let her go until he came up with a new plan. Also, even though he often berates his brother, Papyrus is still kind to him, like when Sans suggested using puzzles to catch Frisk, Papyrus immediately accepted Sans' suggestion without hesitation. He also on one occasion called one of Sans' puns as "clever". Papyrus is also proud of his cooking abilities, considering himself a royal chef due to his spaghetti-making prowess.
