Rhoda McConnors (née Penmark) is the main antagonist of the film The Bad Seed and the main protagonist of the fanfiction Return and redemption. She will return in the upcoming sequel Claude Daigle Lives.
She used to be a murderous, sociopathic 8-year-old girl who kills a classmate because he won an award she coveted. After faking her death, she decided to atone for all her many misdeeds, which is what led her to become a hero after Claude Daigle and Leroy resurface and go on a murder spree.

Return and redemption[]
Faking her own death[]
After being hit by lightning, it was thought that Rhoda died as a result, but she managed to survive, and swam to the other side. She went into hiding in an abanoned mine, and after she fell asleep in there, she had a nightmare about Leroy coming to kill her with his black razor glove. After realizing it was all just a dream, she fell asleep, and lived in the abandoned mine for the next 10 years, hoping for nothing to happen to her.
10 years later[]
Now 18 years old, Rhoda spends her time with Jane Waltzingham and Henry McConnors as she lives at her new home in Albany, New York. The three of them decide to go to the Buckingham Lake Park, while Rhoda was feeling nervous about the whole thing.
Discovery on old stomping grounds[]
After arriving at the old apartment with Henry and Jane, they go inside, and Rhoda is shocked at finding Miss Fern dead, then sees Monica Breedlove as she was succumbing to the injuries that she sustained when Claude Daigle attacked. Monica's last wish was for Rhoda to do the best she can, which breaks her heart as she sees Monica die in Rhoda's arms. After Henry told Rhoda that he's sorry for her loss, she thanks him and tells him that she loved her in between her sobs. After Jane offered Rhoda a hug, she accepted.
Finding two more of Claude Daigle's murder victims[]
After arriving at the laundromat, the three of them discover two more murder victims of Claude Daigle, and after Rhoda finds her mom dead, she starts to plan revenge on Claude Daigle, but Jane dissuades her from doing so because it would worsen her mental scars.
Trip to the Empire State Building[]
Jane then decides to come up with a plan, where they agree on going to the Empire State Building, because the three of them know where Claude and Leroy are. After they arrived at the Empire State Building, they saw 12 more corpses of people that were killed by Claude Daigle. After Jane remarks that Claude is a monster, Rhoda decides to go up to the top floor by elevator, then she decides to go up to to the roof by dislodging a ceiling tile.
The big battle[]
While Claude and Leroy were fighting one another after Henry used a cable to cause Claude to trip, Rhoda gathered Henry and Jane to her side to discuss a new plan. The three of them end their discussion after Claude finishes the fight with Leroy by grabbing him by the legs and slamming his face onto the roof, then shoving him off. Rhoda had the crowbar that she found during her visit at the abandoned mine, then fought Claude with it. Just as Rhoda was about to be killed by Claude Daigle, Henry shot Claude on the left side of his head with an 1865 Spencer carbine rifle. After Rhoda got back up, she whacked Claude in the forehead with her crowbar, then she asked him to look at her face. After he was reaching out to hoist her back up, Claude reached out for his machetes, and attempts to kill her, but Rhoda dodges in time. After Claude put his hockey mask back on, the battle resumes. After Henry and Jane had their conversation, Rhoda whacked Claude in both of his hands with the crowbar, causing both of his machetes to fall out of his hands (The left one fell on the roof as the right one fell on the streets).
After Rhoda picked up the left machete, she delivered the finishing blow by swiping Claude across the chest with the machete, causing him to fall 1,454 feet onto the street and then into the sewers.
Visitation from Death[]
After Rhoda regrouped with her friends, she met Death, and after he praised her for her actions, he forgave her. After Death disappeared, Rhoda agreed for her and Jane to have lots of fun. After going to the exact spot where Claude had fallen from, Rhoda and Henry fell in love.
12 years later[]
Now 31 years old, Rhoda married Henry McConnors, and has a daughter named Grace Breedlove McConnors. During the way home in Rhoda's black 1974 Cadillac Coupe DeVille, Grace asked if she got her middle name in memory of Monica, to which Rhoda said yes, and decided to not tell Grace about how she killed Claude Daigle. After Rhoda told Henry that she loves him. Then, after she asked Rhoda what she would do for a basket of kisses, Grace replied that she would give Rhoda a basket of hugs. The family of three smiled as they drove home.
Trivia[]
- h2023graduate feels that Rhoda deserved better, hence why he had her fake her death from getting hit by lightning.
- Since Rhoda is Bessie Denker's biological granddaughter, that would make Grace the biological great-granddaughter of Bessie.
