Ryu is a recurring character in MK vs. SF flash animation series by Proxicide. He served as the main protagonist in both MK vs. SF 2, and MK vs. SF 3.

Biography

Background

It is later revealed that Ryu has fought many warriors as an opponents.

MK vs. SF 2

When Ryu and Sakura are talking in Street Fighter dimension, the portal suddenly linked to Mortal Kombat dimension as Liu Kang confronts Scorpion and challenges him. Scorpion taunts him as he is the legend and Liu Kang won't be able to kill them because he will kill him before. As they about to start fight, a portal exists in both dimensions. Scorpion looks at the portal surprisedly and warns Liu Kang. While they arguing about the portal, Ryu decides to look inside the portal and encounters the two. Ryu immediately heads back and tells Sakura what he saw. Sakura wants from Ryu to destroy the portal and Ryu charges a Hadouken to destroy the portal, but it crosses into the portal and hits Liu Kang and makes him fall back. Scorpion runs after him but doesn't be able to catch him.

Ryu decides to cross the portal after he realizes that he can't destroy the portal, he crosses he portal anxiously and enters the MK dimension, encounters Scorpion. Scorpion asks Ryu about who is he and immediately taunts and decides to kill him as he identifies Ryu as a threat. Ryu counter taunts him and they begin to fight. Scorpion manages to defeat Ryu and tells him that he will kill him and reign the king of the world where he comes from. As Scorpion is about to burn Ryu alive, his attempt gets interrupted by Akuma and brutally killed by his Messatsu Goshoryu.

MK vs. SF 3

After Scorpion was killed by Akuma, Ryu didn't need the latter's help. The next day, Akuma was suddenly missing, as he decided to seek another Mortal Kombat opponent named Chameleon. Ryu later arrived to save Akuma when he was about to be killed by Chameleon who get his revenge on Scorpion. It is later revealed that Akuma is Ryu's father.

Trivia

• Considering this inconsistency in addition to some other conflicts, it is clear that the second/third chapters are were presented in the same continuity. For example, according to the beginning story of the both chapter; it is stated that Akuma is about to be killed by Chameleon.
