SuperMemeGuardian3, also known as SMG3, is the main antagonist of the Australian adult-animated sitcom web series SMG4, and one of the deuteragonists of it's 2021 spin-off SMG4 Crew.
He is the former archenemy of the titular SMG4 and Mario, whom he was often trying to kill. He often had a partnership with Bowser, to enact his evil plans. However, his hubris and Bowser's incompetence frequently gets the better of him and, more than often, his evil plans will spectacularly backfire, such as his antics with the Ztar. He sometimes teams up with SMG4 and his friends if there's a threat that's far more dangerous than him, especially Niles in order to set things right. After the events of SMG4: War of the Fat Italians 2020, SMG3 is banished to the Internet Graveyard, and in Season 11, he is now the king of the Internet Graveyard. When he escapes the Internet Graveyard, he helps the SMG4 Crew with defeating Niles/SMG0 mainly because he wants to save the earth for major selfish reasons despite the fact that he has respect for his arch-frenemy, SMG4.
Although SMG3 has various voice clips, he was originally voiced by Luke Lerdwichagul since 2011, who also voices the titular SMG4 himself. Ever since 2020, however, he is currently voiced by James Bailey.
As of the SMG4 Movie: It's Gotta Be Perfect, he started to be more heroic and less selfish about things, even going to the length of being a member of the SMG4 Crew.
Roles[]
He is the main antagonist of Classic Era, one of the three tritagonists (alongside Bob and Boopkins) of the Modern Era, and one of the two deuteragonists (alongside Mario) of The New Era.
He serves as one of the two main antagonists (alongside Bowser) of Season 1, the main antagonist of Seasons 2-6, the secondary antagonist of Season 7, a supporting character in Season 8, the final protagonist of The Waluigi Arc, a minor character in The Rapper Bob Arc and Season 9, the anti-heroic tritagonist of The SMG4 Cosmology Lore trilogy, and one of the two deuteragonists (alongside Mario) of PUZZLEVISION Saga.
In the Cosmology Lore trilogy, he serves as the main antagonist of Season 10 and The YouTube Arc, one the two tritagonists (alongside Melony) of Season 11 and the Genesis Arc, the tritagonist of SMG4: Movie 10 year Anniversary Special and SMG4: Movie Revelations, a major protagonist in Season 12 and Revelations Arc, and a recurring character in The Lawsuit Arc.
After the Cosmology Lore trilogy, he serves as one of the three main protagonists (alongside Mario and SMG4) of Season 13, the main protagonist of SMG4 Movie: IT'S GOTTA BE PERFECT, a major protagonist in SMG4 Movie: WESTERN SPAGHETTI, one of the two main protagonists (alongside SMG4) of SMG4: War of the Fat Italians 2023, one of the two deuteragonists (alongside Mario) of Season 14, Season 15 and the Puzzlevision Saga, one of the deuteragonists of SMG4 Movie: PUZZLEVISION.
In the Puzzlevision saga, he is the main protagonist of chapter 1, a major protagonist of chapter 2 and 5, one of the two main protagonists (alongside SMG4) of chapter 3, one of the two deuteragonists (alongside Mario) of chapter 4 and the tritagonist of chapter 6 and a minor character of chapter 7.
Personality[]
When he was evil, in his first appearances, SMG3 was prone to being a very arrogant, selfish, stubborn, vain, and merciless bad guy who appeared to be an incompetent villain, using useless tricks to defeat his foes, but with very little success. In his later appearances, he began to show a much darker personality, now that he was promoted to being the main antagonist. Despite appearing to be eviler, he continued his incompetent acts and usually tried to do something unusual to save himself, commonly hurting him in the process, yet protecting or enabling him to escape successfully. Like Francis before him, he was also a coward, as he only relied on a strong object to protect himself rather than getting into a physical fight. However, he seems to be better at fighting than Francis without needing to use an overpowered superweapon as he's capable of wielding a katana and bests SMG4 at it.
Like SMG4, SMG3 seemed to be a showoff on Bowser whenever they bother on something they think they are better with. He always desired to do anything to get rid of SMG4 and kill everyone in his path that defends him.
In SMG3's mind, he is meant to be the evilest person in the world, not Waluigi; this was why he helped Wario and the rest of the heroes during the end of the Waluigi Arc.
However, aside from his evil traits and stints as a villain, SMG3 has proven himself to be a bumbling, goofy dork much like his rival; his cameo appearances showed him doing normal hobbies, including eating chicken, taking long naps, reading JB mags, even starting a club for villains. For some reason, he even enjoyed partying, though he was also somewhat bratty, and his behavior was akin to a crybaby.
In the YouTube Arc, SMG3 became a much more despicable individual. His grudge against SMG4 increased beyond its limit, but to an extremely heinous degree; he had no qualms in not only trying to rip him off, but also outright erase him and all his friends (except Mario, as he was one of the key reasons the channel was so popular) from existence, and violently lashed out and retaliated to any suggestion that SMG4 is better than him. He was very short-tempered and aggressive even to his own gang, as he bullied and degraded Whimpu, had a complete lack of sympathy for JubJub when he missed his older brother Fishy Boopkins, and even electrocuted Belle when she badmouthed him. SMG3 also showed total inability to acknowledge or take responsibility for his own poor ability in directing videos, pinning all the blame on his gang and claiming that he can do better than SMG4, despite all other evidence to the contrary. He also had an utter lack of flexibility; instead of playing his gang's personalities and traits to their fullest, he forced them to act exactly like their counterparts, despite all of him being clearly unfit for their roles. He also had unawareness of recent events, as he thought Bob still has a rapping career even though the latter had stopped rapping; he made Rob, Bob’s counterpart in the Anti-Cast, promote the latter's rapping album.
This increased villainy of his eventually backfired on him, as SMG4's Gang was able to remind his gang of his poor and inhumane treatment, causing them to turn against him. When he was defeated and backed into a corner, he cowardly tried to claim that his actions were nothing but a mere prank in order to appeal to the good nature of his enemies, only to be ignored and banished to the Internet Graveyard. He then proceeded to show that he learned nothing in trying to create a podcast of his own, and ended up getting brutally attacked by Ugandan Knuckles.
However, after the YouTube Arc, SMG3 eventually became comfortable in the Internet Graveyard and even became its ruler, who entertains everyone there with dead trends, which are popular in the graveyard. According to him, the Ancient Memes were taking care of the dead memes there, but they did a crap job at it, which was the reason the Graveyard was a jungle environment. When he arrived, he actually managed to make the dead memes less violent. Having been educated about the meme life cycle, he decides to keep SMG4 alive only because he's the only one who's able to keep the memes tamed in the normal realm, which allows them to go to the Graveyard when they die, where SMG3 cares for them until they become relevant again. Overall, he's currently an anti-heroic character who is concerned about the well-being of the dead memes.
Unlike SMG4, he seemed uninterested in learning the history of the SMGs. Regardless, he was forcefully dragged into the plot of the Genesis Arc, forcing him to do another team up with his arch-nemesis. After learning to use their power (which required the two to hold hands, to their initial disgust), SMG3's grudge towards SMG4 seemed to slightly dissipate. Despite this, he still enjoys doing evil things which mainly involve him simply being a jerk to everyone. Most recently starting with SMG4: Mario and The God Box, SMG3 started to crave more power as he realized how powerful the Meme Guardian ability and the possibility of unlimited power from the God Box meaning despite getting all he wanted with a land to rule and a audience that loves him, he consciously desires more. In a desperate attempt to power up Mario, SMG3 reluctantly sacrificed his cherished meme Terrence. However even after losing Terrence, he eventually found an Eggdog to care about.
In the video SMG4: SMG4... Are You Ok? SMG3 showed quite a lot of care and concern for SMG4. This can be seen with him being willing to talk to Mr. Yeast about possibly doing a Collab with SMG4 and also helping him after SMG4 almost ruined his channel with low effort content. Eventually SMG4's descent into madness would take a serious toll at the start of Mar10 Day, resulting in his eventual lashing out on the crew. SMG3 rightfully berated SMG4 for this senseless outburst, stating that Mario wanted him to star in an important attraction. Despite SMG4's demands to be left alone, SMG3 would frequently check up on him, even leaving behind a lot of food, expecting him to come out.
In SMG4 Movie: IT'S GOTTA BE PERFECT, he comes to regret his previous actions from the YouTube arc. This is shown when he, Meggy and Mario enter the infested castle, and come across self loathing dark thoughts on the paintings of the castle. This leads SMG3 to realize the struggles of SMG4's workload, developing a remorseful and empathetic attitude as he recounted the stress he endured with starting his career and transition to villainy. When Meggy was moved by this revelation, SMG3 hastily denied it, presumably of out of pride. However, he along with Meggy and Mario would open out to SMG4, understanding his pain and reassuring he isn't alone. Even when Meggy and Mario do leave the castle, SMG3 remains behind to save SMG4 and complete his perfect video. But the castle collapses as a result of Swagmaster's demolition and the Demonic Goop's consumption, which leaves the two Meme Guardians dangling over the edge of the Goop's maw. Between the USB and SMG3, the latter was saved by SMG4, who now considered him to be a friend.
Appearance[]
His appearance was once similar to SMG4 when they first came to the world a long time ago in which he had worn a blue shirt and dark black overalls. He also wears a blue cap with a skull on it, as well as having blue eyes. In future videos, his color scheme changes to purple, still sporting his black overalls, and wears the same leather boots (similar to Mario and SMG4). After the Lawsuit arc, his facial appearance changes from having a big moustache to a beard, similar to his real-life counterpart, his nose is also smaller and he has bigger eyes. He once had brown hair, but turned to black messy hair, his eyes also changed from being big black pupils to red pupils. In Season 13 and onwards, he changes into a more villainous appearance, his eyes had changed from blue to red and he wears a dark purple overalls (but still keeps yellow buttons). He also wears black shoes with spikes on them, his gloves have the roman numeral three on them, as well as black bandanas around his wrist and his cap is light purple but has a chip on its left visor. His skull symbol had changed its shape from being oval to a pentagon, to give it a more skull appearance.
