Biography[]
Judgement[]
Sans appears to greet Frisk in a friendly manner. However, Frisk, who is possessed by Chara. ignores him rudely. Sans then warned Frisk not to make a rash decision, because then she would have a bad time. Frisk continued to ignore him and walked away. Sans then watched Frisk meet Lesser Dog with a smiling face. However, his face changes to horror when Frisk sadistically kills Lesser Dog. Frisk then started killing monsters who were Sans' friends, such as Toriel, Papyrus, Undyne, Mettaton, Flowey, Asgore, and Muffet, while Sans just watched with an angry and disgust expression.
Frisk meets Sans again at the MTT Resort dinner. Sans scolds Frisk for her brutality and tells her to contemplate on her cruelty. But as usual, Frisk ignored Sans and continued her journey to the Hall of Judgement, where Sans was waiting for her for Frisk's final battle. Sans threw several attacks at Frisk using his bone manipulation power and gaster blasters. However, Frisk managed to dodge his attack. An irritated Sans used his telekinesis and slammed Frisk several times and then knocking her to the floor. Sans then asks Frisk, does Frisk think the worst people can change and everyone can become a good person if they try. However, when Sans was caught off guard, Frisk used the opportunity to stab the skeleton in the chest. Sans watched in horror as Frisk grinned cruelly before his body finally shattered into pieces, leaving his heart as the only thing intact. Frisk, now fully transformed into Chara, then continues her journey to end Asgore and destroy the Underground.
To The Bone[]
When Sans was asleep, Papyrus woke him up and told him that a human had fallen from the Surface World. After telling Papyrus an annoying pun, Sans and Papyrus meet the human who turns out to be Frisk. They welcomed her and invited her to see the Underground. However, seeing Papyrus lacking manners, Sans reprimanded him, to which an angry Papyrus responded by insulting Sans as "lazy and apathetic". The two of them then told Frisk about the origins of the monsters and hoped that they could return to the Surface World. They both follow Frisk again and advise her to choose mercy or kill them all. Papyrus then stated his intention to capture Frisk, which was followed by Sans who advised Papyrus to capture her with Papyrus' puzzles. Papyrus takes Sans' suggestion and uses spaghetti as bait. Sans makes a pun about spaghetti by calling it "creepy pasta". An annoyed Papyrus tells Sans to stop joking, which Sans ignores by calling Papyrus "someone's funny bone broken".
Sans confronts Frisk in the Hall of Judgement, stating that he knows who Frisk is and what Frisk wants, before he raises his gaster blasters and tells her not to mess with him and not to get in his way. However, before Sans can shoot Frisk, Sans states that he was just kidding and says that if he is bored, he amused himself. Sans is seen again with Papyrus who wants to catch Frisk with a Junior Jumble, to which Sans replies that he is not sure Papyrus can catch Frisk with that. Papyrus decided to just use his special attack. However, before he can attack, Sans annoyed Papyrus by playing his trombone. An annoyed Papyrus told Sans to leave him alone, but Sans only made Papyrus even more annoyed by giving him more puns. Sans is then seen watching Chara kill the Lesser Dog, to which Sans warns that he is always watching her and tells her to be careful. Sans is last seen with Papyrus recreating the same scene from the original music video.
I Am Flowey[]
Sans is only seen twice in this animation, where he runs in a beautiful landscape with Flowey, Papyrus, Metatton, Undyne, Muffet, and Lesser Dog.
Way Deeper Down[]
Sans is seen with Papyrus walking together. Frisk, who saw the two of them, immediately hid behind a tree. Papyrus tells Sans to wait and keep his eyes out for humans, to which Sans makes a joke about his eyes that annoys Papyrus. When Frisk was about to run away, she accidentally stepped on a branch, making Sans aware of her presence. Sans then introduced himself to Frisk and explained several things about him, one of which was that he will haunt Frisk if she chose to fight. While talking about his brother, Papyrus appears and asks Sans who he is talking to. Sans immediately covered Frisk's head with a lampshade and said that he was talking to the lamp. After explaining some things to Frisk, Sans threatens Frisk that she will cry and have a bad time if she chooses the wrong path. Several monsters then lifted Frisk and dropped her into a grave. Sans is seen again when Papyrus is showing off his cooking skills, to which Sans interrupts him by making a pun about Papyrus' pasta, calling it "pasta-way", making Papyrus annoyed and questioning Sans' behavior.
In ending A, Papyrus vows to catch Frisk again, to which Sans teases Papyrus with another pun, once again annoying Papyrus as he pats his face. W.D. Gaster appears and is frustrated with Sans and Papyrus bickering. Gaster tells them both that he'd be leaving as they were both making his skin crawl. Realizing the irony of his statement, he claims he meant it metaphorically.
In ending B, Papyrus shows Sans that he finally to capture a human. When Sans saw this "human", Sans chuckled because it turned out Papyrus only caught the lamp he was using to hide Frisk.
Appearance[]
In Judgement, Sans is a white living skeleton with black eyes and white glowing pupils. He is bald because he has no hair. Sans wore a white t-shirt covered by a Yale blue unzipped jacket with a cream hood. He also wore black shorts with white lines and blue sandals. Sans also has a pair of gray eyebrows. Sans can also make his left eye glow blue like fire with a black pupil in the middle. However, the pupil of his right eye will disappear.
In To The Bone and I'm Flowey, Sans' design is almost the same as his design in Judgment, except the gray eyebrows are removed and replaced with a pair of eyebrows that appear to blend into his skull.
In Way Deeper Down, Sans' design was changed to be somewhat similar to the original Undertale design. He no longer had his eyebrows, his jacket is now sapphire blue with the zipper open, and his jacket no longer has a hood. His sandals were changed to light pink.
Personality[]
Sans is very relaxed, friendly, sociable, and kind. He usually greets humans like Frisk with a greeting and a handshake, then proceeds to casually explain a few things about himself. However, Sans is also very lazy, annoying, obnoxious, and sloppy. His laziness can be seen when Sans is shown sleeping at the beginning of To The Bone. Sans likes to annoy his brother Papyrus by making some puns about bones, much to Papyrus' annoyance and usually making him scold his brother. Sans is also very strict, because several times he told or even threatened Frisk not to do the wrong thing. He also sternly reprimands Papyrus for his lack of manners.
Sans' strict attitude is emphasized in Judgement, where his strictness is mixed with anger and disgust, showing anger and disgust at Frisk's brutal action in killing Sans' friends. Also unlike in To The Bone and Way Deeper Down, where Sans was firm and threatening but in a relaxed tone, Sans in Judgement was more serious and without humor at all, several times reprimanding Frisk in a serious tone and threatening with anger.
Despite his annoying and strict attitude, Sans really loves his brother and his friends, because he told Frisk several times that his brother was innocent and told her not to hurt him. Sans' concern for his friends is also the main motivation for him wanting to kill Frisk to avenge his friends.
