Satoru Gojo is the titular main protagonist of the DEATH BATTLE! episode, "Gojo VS Makima". He is a teacher at Jujutsu High who seeks exterminating curses and demons, including Makima from the Chainsaw Man series. He is Makima's arch nemesis/rival.

He is voiced by Gianni Matragrano, who also voiced Lex Luthor, Needles Kane, Nathan Drake, Batman, and Shao Kahn. His heavy breathing at the end of the fight is voiced by Liam Swan, who also voiced Popeye and The Chosen Undead.

Personality

When he first appears, Gojo has a very stark contrast to his enemy. While Makima is calm, usually quiet, and level-headed, Gojo is loud, talkative, and overconfident. As he is seen in the movie theater, Gojo acts rather obnoxious, talking out loud and coughing loudly. He displays his murderous resentment towards Makima with a friendly smile and casual attitude. When the two start fighting, Gojo takes the fight casually, such as the way he sends out his attacks, saying "whomp-whomp" when Makima fails to bypass Limitless, and how he calls Makima "weak" and himself "the strongest."

However, once Makima bypasses Limitless, Gojo, while still having his usual laughing self, starts to take the fight more seriously. In fact, at this point, he ends the fight immediately by using Unlimited Void and Hollow Purple, while still having a charismatic attitude.

History

Gojo suddenly appears in a movie theater with Makima, being his typical annoying self before revealing he was dispatched to stop her reign. Makima responds by blasting Gojo out of the theater. The two do battle, with Makima controlling and summoning several devils and hybrids to fight, all who end up easily swept away by Gojo's power, and Gojo's Infinity protecting him from every attack. However, Makima proves to be just as stubborn and difficult to kill, as any time she takes damage of any kind, she regenerates by transferring the damage to a random bystander in Japan. Eventually though, as Gojo gloats at how "weak" Makima is, she discovers a weak point and possible trump card: Bang. Makima uses Bang on Gojo several times, bypassing Infinity and blowing holes in his body, as well as taking his leg off. Finally viewing Gojo as inferior to her given his current state, she proceeds to attempt control over him and use the Angel Devil to finish him.

However, Gojo proves to still be too powerful for her as he breaks from the control, regenerates the damage, destroys all the Devils, and unleashes Domain Expansion: Unlimited Void. Makima is immobilized and overwhelmed by the infinite information and can do nothing but whimper and scream in terror as she is disintegrated by Gojo's other ultimate move: Hollow Purple. With no trace of Makima left to regenerate, Gojo is satisfied as the victor, albeit at the cost of 1,012 lives thanks to Makima's damage transference.
