Sonic the Hedgehog is the overarching protagonist of the Sonic.exe: Nightmare Universe series by JaizKoys.
He is a kind-hearted thrill-seeking blue hedgehog that can run at supersonic speeds, constantly foiling the evil plans of Dr. Eggman. He was a founding member of the Freedom Fighters before he departed after discovering what they had done to Eggman's daughter Jessie.
For most of the series' first half, he is trapped within the Dark Subconscious due to Exetior possessing his body. He is slowly being manipulated by Junter into helping him kill Exetior, rendering him incompliant with the demon.
He is currently voiced by kzredz. He was formerly voiced by DarkBox, who had also voiced Knuckles, Sark, Pervision and Negagen. In the original Sonic.Exe: Nightmare Beginning, he is voiced by the series' creator JaizKoys, who also voiced Exetior.
Appearance[]
Sonic is a slim anthropomorphic hedgehog with blue fur that covers most of his body, and peach skin that covers his arms, muzzle, insides of his ears and front torso. He has small, triangular ears on top of his head, six long quills on the back of his head, two spines protruding from his back behind his shoulders, and a short tail. For attire, Sonic wears red boots with a white strap, cuff and gold buckle each; and a pair of white gloves with sock-like cuffs on the hands.
His appearance seems to be the baseplate for all the known Demons in the series.
Personality[]
Sonic is a cocky thrill-seeker that loves both nature and adventure. He cherishes freedom and hates oppression, resulting in him clashing heads with the tyrannical Dr. Eggman and his army of Badniks. Sonic cannot stand anybody that hurts his friends.
Sonic's will is indomitable, allowing him to resist being completely controlled by the former Highest Exetior. His immense will allows him to keep his emotions in check and utilize a stable Super form without falling into it's negative side effects. He can even override Exetior's control briefly at times when angered enough, such as when he allowed the girls to escape in Sally.exe: Eye of Three.
Due to Junter's manipulation, Sonic does not trust Exetior or anybody affiliated with him. He is under the belief that the demonized counterparts of his friends are merely doppelgangers and won't reason with even Tails.
As Fleetway Super Sonic, he became bloodthirsty, enraged, and has a burning desire for justice, as he valiantly confronts Exetior, determined to avenge the loss of his dear friends against Exetior. It is highly likely that he is just as mentally unstable as he was during his initial introduction.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Superhuman physiology: Sonic is one of the strongest characters in the series. Prior to Exetior's invasion, he was able to fight and win against global threats that endangered the entire planet. Sonic is extremely skilled at harnessing Chaos Energy and can withstand the power of both the Chaos Emeralds and the Master Emerald.
- Unparalleled superhuman speed and agility: Sonic is the fastest person on Mobius[1]. He can easily run at speeds exceeding Mach 1 (343 m/s) and potentially exceed it. He can run fast enough to generate afterimages behind himself.
- Superhuman acrobatics: Sonic is extremely acrobatic and can leap tremendous distances. He can curl into a ball and even use it as a way to build up speed and release it all at once.
- Chaos Energy emission: Sonic is able to use Chaos Energy, the same power exerted from the Chaos Emeralds and the Master Emerald. He can exert Chaos Energy in the form of his signature speed, making him faster than everyone on Mobius including Cream.
- Indomitable will: Sonic never gives up even when things begin to go sour for him. Despite the fact that all of his friends had died at the hands of Exetior, he refuses to submit to his control and can even force him out of his mind when pushed enough. Because of his strong willpower and positive mindset, he is able to stably harness Chaos Energy from the Chaos Emeralds to transform into a Super form.
- Transformation: By harnessing Chaos Energy, he can transform into a multitude of different forms:
- Super Sonic: After collecting the seven Chaos Emeralds, Sonic transforms into Super Sonic. While the form would normally distort into a Berserk form (reminiscent of Fleetway's Super Sonic), Sonic's powerful will allows the transformation to stabilize into something he can properly control.
- Hyper Sonic: When the Chaos Emeralds are enhanced into the Super Emeralds by the Master Emerald (or by Sonic simply absorbing the Master Emerald's power[2]), he can transform into an even stronger variant of the Super form known as the Hyper form. This form is powerful enough to even rival the former Highest Exetior.

- According to his official biography[1] and JaizKoys' Twitter:
- He is 21 years old, 3.5 feet tall and of male gender.
- He used to have a "slightly assholish personality". Despite his strong will to protect people in need, he was rude to people that never showed him respect and never often cared for the mental state of his friends, choosing to only help them when their lives were on the line. After discovering the true reason as to why Dr. Eggman attacks the Mobians, Sonic began to change for the better and became more empathetic towards others, including his own friends.
- He often jokingly calls himself a "devil's advocate" due to his fear of the Mobians eventually finding out that he spares Eggman.
- He considers Tails as someone equivalent to being his younger brother
- He likes to compete with Metal Sonic, often teasing him that he's a copy that's doomed to swallow his dust.
- He does not really like robots due to their "artificiality", but he made this exception to the Emerl robot as he made a connection to him. Eggman abandoned working on that specific line of robots despite promising to make more.
- He manages Chaos-powered forms quite well, but is afraid of accidentally turning into a Berserk form as it once nearly killed Sally after she had accused him of cowardice after leaving the Freedom Fighters.
