Spike was the overarching main protagonist of the My Little Pony fanfic Spike's Sacrifice. He was a pre-teen male dragon and Twilight Sparkle's long-time friend and assistant. Spike also handled communications between Twilight and Celestia.
Appearance[]
Spike is a bright and vibrant purple dragon with beautiful green scales all along his back, a large, round belly, and majestic purple wings.
Personality[]
He frequently displays a sardonic personality but can be counted on to help Twilight and her friends when they need him. In some of the episodes, it is shown that Spike has a major crush on Rarity, who only saw him as a friend and was unaware of his affections until she becomes aware and accepts it in Season 2. Twilight hatched Spike from an egg as part of an admission exam for a school of magic run by Celestia, gaining both her cutie mark and a chance to study under Celestia's direct guidance. His greatest achievement is saving the Crystal Empire.
Biography[]
Chapter 1[]
Queen Chrysalis threatened to pluck Spike's wings if the Mane 6 interfered. As he eventually gained the strength to break free and grabbed the enchanted bell. Spike made the executive decision to get them to destroy the bell, knowing very well it would kill him too. Chrysalis' next few attempted had shattered the bell. As Spike sped towards his targets, Cozy, Tirek, and Chrysalis powered up another blast of magic each. This time, instead of firing individually, they unleashed their blasts all at once. Right as the blasts connected, Spike stuck out Grogar’s bell once more, and the villains instantly realized that they had screwed up. The blast hit the bell, it detonated, and was blown to smithereens and enveloped all four of them in a huge surge of magic. Spike was severely injured, as he waited for death. He was able to mutter his last words "I love you," before he passed from his injuries.
Chapter 3[]
Spike was given a grand funeral, with every character coming from near and far to pay their respects. There were many tears shed in sadness as each character shared their fondest memories of Spike and the impact he had on their lives.
