SpongeBob SquarePants is the main protagonist of GoAnimate Roleplay, he is the main hero of the server and the biggest rival to Cruel, he is Meggy's boyfriend and is the third smartest person in GoAnimate Roleplay.
Like in the real show, SpongeBob would always care for the ones he loves even if it means putting him in harm's way which is why he always try his best to do anything Cruel does but unlike Cruel, he would use these powers for good instead of evil.
We also see from GoAnimate Roleplay that SpongeBob was the one who discovered the alternate universes and he is the one who created the GoAnimate Roleplay banner.
Personality[]
SpongeBob is just like how he is in the main show where he would be kind, supportive, and optimistic. However, unlike his main version who is known for being a dumb person, SpongeBob in GoAnimate Roleplay is actually pretty smart (only being behind Cruel, Classic Cruel, Cure, Heal, and Panacea), also unlike his cartoon counterpart who is single, SpongeBob in GoAnimate Roleplay is taken by Meggy Spletzer from SMG4.
SpongeBob has always see himself to forever be a peacemaker and promises to his friend he's never going to turn bad regardless of what happens and if he does turn bad, the universe will end up getting destroyed and the troublemaker group as a whole gets erased.
Despite his kind heart and his will to never want to hurt any peacemaker, he has some bad anger issues which caused him hearing the "now rocks" troll to make him want to end the world which is made to give him character development and a unique personality in a way.
Alternate Story Variation[]
In the alternate stories, SpongeBob still acts like how he was in the main roleplay in the most part but he has major differences still. For example, he seems to break the fourth wall way more often in the stories and he gets insulted and bullied more in those stories (mainly from characters like Evil Batman or Evil Superman) due to him being slightly weaker than his non-alternate counterpart and how the alternate stories don't have it's own character stats.
SpongeBob has made a lot of inventions that could be used to avoid him being traumatized like how he made an invention that censors his name whenever he gets mentioned as an insult and because massive destruction and troublemaking is more popular in the alternate stories than the main chat, SpongeBob was shown to be less defensive in there compared to the main roleplay.

- SpongeBob and Meggy both have the same birthday (July 14).
- Despite being in the main protagonist of GoAnimate Roleplay, he's not on the top 3 strongest characters in GoAnimate Roleplay but rather he's in the 5th place instead tying with Ralsei and Meggy.
- He used to hate being shipped with Meggy back in 2021-2022 before he started dating her starting in 2023.
- SpongeBob was one of the earliest GoAnimate Roleplay characters appearing before Meggy and the others were even around back in the Smooth Midnight Central back in late 2021 along with Saitama.
