I did love her, and I did kill her, but...she loved me, and she hurt me, that… that doesn’t mean what I did was right and it doesn’t mean that part of me doesn’t love her, but… she hurt me. She… raped me. She made me feel scared all the time and I just… closed off because I didn’t want to hurt anyone. She hurt us, Omori and… we’ll keep hurting ourselves if I don’t tell anyone…and what I did was an accident, but she… she did all that on purpose.
~ Sunny standing up to Omori during their fight and his most famous quote.

Sunny is the main protagonist of the Omori Hands fanfiction saga. He is an alternate version of the original game's protagonist, who was sexually abused by his sister, Mari, and who accidentally killed her when he pushed her down the stairs when she tried to rape him again when he refused to be with her anymore. He serves as the main protagonist of Hands and Truth, the deuteragonist of Will you forgive me, My best friend? And one of the two main protagonists (alongside Hero) of Recovery.

Story[]

When Sunny was twelve, Mari began to sexually abuse him to the point that he wanted to be with friends as much as possible, as she was more unlikely to try to abuse him when he was with friends.

Sunny liked to play the violin when Mari gave it to him for Christmas. But that night, he found out that Mari had hired them for a recital after seeing him play the violin so they would have more time alone during rehearsals.

He was afraid of her but didn't think he could refuse because she had worked so hard to get the violin. And then, he would try to put on a show that the audience would like.

Sunny broke her violin before the recital. Because he couldn't take the pressure, she put on him. She went back to abusing him during rehearsal. He admitted he didn't want to be around her, making her try to rape him again in exchange for saying he broke her violin by accident. When Sunny realized that, by her more aggressive attitude, it would be something worse than anything she had done before, Sunny gathered all her strength and pushed her down the stairs causing her death.

Sunny didn't notice, but Basil had seen everything that happened and decided to help him make it look like a suicide by hanging the body. Sunny refused to write a note in which Mari took the blame for not ruining her legacy.

Sunny woke up and decided to help Basil and saw that he was trying to commit suicide and, during an argument so he wouldn't kill himself, Basil stabbed Sunny in the eye, making him unconscious.

Sunny told him everything Mari had done to him when he woke up in the hospital. Although his friends initially thought he was making a bad joke, they accepted that Mari was never a good person.

Appearance[]

This Sunny looks the same as his canon counterpart.

Personality[]

Before the story, this version of Sunny was described to have the same personality traits as his canon counterpart, such as being extremely shy and quiet, yet a kind boy who has been described as a good listener who always had time for his friends but dislikes taking the lead.

However, because of Mari's abuse and his accidentally killing her, he slowly started losing his will to live due to both the trauma and guilt of the abuse and murder of his sister, closing himself off from his friends and reality, creating his headspace and extension Omori much like his canon counterpart.

After he confesses Mari's crimes to his friends, he starts to feel slightly more connected to reality and safe by erasing Something from his headspace, losing his suicidal intent after daily going to therapy. Still, unfortunately, his old traits only got amplified, such as hardly talking, but whenever he does speak, he stutters and mumbles—he also is more prone to crying due to sexual trauma, along with becoming extremely squeamish when it comes to being touched by people, especially by older women, to the point where he can't even hug his mother anymore without raising his hands in fear and having a tingling spine whenever he hears a piano.
