Yamato is a supporting one-shot protagonist of Joe's Cosmic Saga. She first appears in Part 2 of Joe's Cosmic Saga and serves as Joebotnik's 2nd love-interest in the saga as well as a supporting character during the saga. She is a oni emperor who lives in her own castle to remain protected against the worldwide tyranny in her world.
Personality[]
She is a incredibly confident, fearless, charismatic and cheeky individual with a playful and intelligent approach in manner, very similar to Joebotnik's whimsical and sassy behavior from the get-go. She has shown to be rather affectionate, emotional, presumptuous, aggressive and flirtatious towards Joebotnik in a rather loving way (however, she happens to be more lustful towards Joe due to being smitten by him because of his charisma and his kind words upon Joe complimenting her physical appearance and her personality).
Yamato also strongly cares for Joebotnik also, as she actively seeks to be private and intimate with Joe as soon as she first met him, even when Joebotnik remained somewhat suspicious and hesitant until it was fully clear that Yamato really has a strong passionate love for him because of Joe valuing her as a person, especially for the fact Joe researched her with his tech goggles to have full knowledge with knowing what series she's from.
As Joebotnik showcases what he can do with his magical superpowers, Yamato becomes very loyal, protective and supportive of him. To the point where she kept a arsonist kit Joe always wanted to use on irredeemable tyrants and terrorists who oppressed innocent people in her world where there is full-on dictatorship from supremacists or dictators across the globe in Yamato's world like Kurozumi Orochi, the Seven Warlords of the Sea, the Beast Pirates, the Celestial Dragons, the Five Elders and the World Government. This is where Yamato reveals to have a slightly power-hungry side, but seeks to utilize her skills and powers to set her world free from tyranny and to make world peace finally happen, making her quite selfless with expressing her beliefs in egalitarianism.
She's also shown to be a tad bit mischievous and thrill-seeking since she claims to love partaking into causing chaos and havoc of some sort for the fun of it being a thrill for her, which doesn't seem to harm anyone. Yamato was also willing to join on Joebotnik's energetic conquests of fixing her planet "The Blue Sea", even if it meant being high in the sky.
Despite all of her powers as a monarch and pirate who seeks to help save the lives of others (as well as showing some signs of common sense), Yamato was also appeared to have a surprisingly naive and clueless side of being rather amateurish and inexperienced on how to save the lives of others, mainly due to never learning about how heroism works. This was revealed when Joebotnik aids her in the training of magic and decision-making to use in situations like saving people. When Joe was brought to Yamato's large training room, Joe finds a clean extensive area to demonstrate a lesson of saving someone from a falling debris of fire by spawning a lightweight test dummy and spawning this to present her with the example; asking Yamato what to do when a helpless citizen is about to be hit with debris, and Yamato didn't know what to do at all as the debris falls on the dummy (Yamato expressing her shortcoming with tons of guilt) until Joebotnik teaches her that it's not just spell-casting magic to use in the situation necessarily, but it's also hurrying people physically out of the situation by taking action to saving the person now and not later, as Joebotnik resummons the debris and resets the action to demonstrate Joebotnik tackling the dummy and running out of the debris, this made Yamato impressed on what Joe meant.
When she saw how brave Joe is and being taught by Joe about every street smart in life, she was also compelled by Joebotnik's energetic style of teaching and vows to improve to become a competent counter-terrorist. She becomes more and more enlightened of how to trick villains into dismay effectively and how to protect the lives of others with magic while destroying a tyrannical government in favor of creating a more peaceful government. She even becomes more enthralled in her training montage she had with Joebotnik, as Joe trained her to learn every single trick in the book, she and Joe effectively tricked all of the tyrants, terrorists, warlords and dictators in her world to be humbled and imprisoned for their crimes while the two use their magic to summon a better government for the world to be runned with peace.
After she and Joe have a training montage, she thanks Joe helping her train to being a master of tricks, and as soon as Joe summons two water bottles for both her and him, she asks him about how hammerspace works for Joe. She asks Joe if she could imagine Joe having a giant hammer to whack craters, Joe pulled out his a towel and magically summons crater while Joe cartoonishly pulls out a giant mallet to destroy craters filled with candy, and Joe asks if she has other questions, this made Yamato get curious about how many possibilities could be made with having a imagination alone and asking if Joe could summon anything because of his magic and his imagination. Joebotnik shares how it's all in the mind that made it possible and she admires him for it (as well as being good at tricks), she has also hugged him several times, saw how being a magical "trickster" could fight their enemies once the magic was fully utilized, and she saw that she was destined to be a hero after all.
She even notes how she needed someone like Joebotnik to keep her on track and keeping her mind sane, this means she was left alone in a castle for some time until Joe came. She was also grateful of Joebotnik selflessly giving her omnipotent powers to fix her world. She continues training with Joebotnik until the next day, where she and Joebotnik start restoring peace and balance to her world, as Joebotnik anticipated and was excited to make happen.
