Yoshi is the tritagonist of the 2006 flash animation series Super Mario Bros. Z.
He is a Yoshi who is close friends with Mario and Luigi, joining the heroes in their hunt for the Chaos Emeralds at Mario's request.
Much like his original counterpart, his voice clips are provided by Kazumi Totaka.
Appearance[]
Yoshi is a green dinosaur with a white underbelly, a large round nose, a row of orange spines along his head, orange boots, and a shell-shaped saddle on his back.
History[]
Yoshi was born as one of the seven Star Children.
Yoshi's peaceful life on Dinosaur Land was disrupted by the arrival of Bowser and the Koopalings who conquered the land and trapped Yoshi and his friends inside magical eggs. Yoshi set out to rescue them, but ended up being trapped himself, with his egg being hidden in a field on Yoshi's Island. Mario and Luigi stumble upon his egg during their search for Princess Peach and free him. Upon his release, Yoshi informed the brothers of how Bowser captured his friends. The three teamed up to rescue Yoshi's friends and Princess Peach. After successfully defeating Bowser and his troops, the three return back to Yoshi's home along with the princess and Yoshi's friends to celebrate their victory.

Personality[]
Yoshi has a very similar personality to Mario. Yoshi is a friendly individual who always lends a helping hand to those in need. He could be considered a hero and has helped his friends, defeated the evil King Bowser Koopa, and saved his island more than once, including the Mushroom Kingdom and save Princess Peach. Once Yoshi takes on a task, he does not give up until he completes it. Yoshi never backs down at defending his homeland and friends. He is also very courageous, allowing the green dinosaur to stand and fight enemies much larger than himself.
In Super Mario Bros. Z, he is also very brave; in Episode 3, Yoshi stood up to Mecha Sonic attempting to protect the Red Chaos Emerald. Like Mario, Yoshi is known by several villains that he and Mario fought, but he is also heard of by other villains. Like Mario, Yoshi is feared by most of them.
Powers & Abilities[]
Like the rest of his species, Yoshi has a long, prehensile sticky tongue that he uses to eat just about anything, including things much larger than himself. He can transform the enemies and any other objects he eats into eggs, which he can use as a projectile.
Yoshi has the ability to flutter-jump, which allows him to cover a great amount of horizontal distance. He is also proficient with the ground-pound.
